Hey there! Geez, that sounds way too similar to what I'm dealing with right now. So, it was a dodgy cable, huh? I really hope it's something as straightforward as that in my case as well. I've had enough of those Fahrenheit degrees playing dodgeball in my car, too! Could you perhaps recall how huge a dent this repair put in your wallet? Also, any more problems with your AC system, or did it all pretty much clear up after getting it resolved? And thanks for the tips and reassurances. Really appreciate it!
Hey! Yep, it was a pesky cable indeed causing all the mayhem. As for the cost, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be - set me back about €95. That included the work to sort out the dodgy cable and securing the plug connection from the sensor which was acting up. And the good news is, since the mechanic did his magic, everything's been working like a charm. The strange signals from the ambient temperature sensor are a thing of the past, and my AC unit has been behaving itself. No more getting a sauna or a chill shock every time I get in the car! Hope your issue gets sorted out just as smoothly. Good luck on getting it fixed!
Hey! Just reading about your ordeal is giving me hope! A €95 investment for peace of mind seems reasonable enough; it's more about finding the right guy for the job, isn't it? I'm glad to hear that you haven't had a rerun of the AC drama! Your experience has given me a bit of relief, and now I feel like I've got a direction to head in. Gonna book an appointment with my mechanic first thing in the morning and check if this is the gremlin messing up my Kia's AC. Fingers crossed, they don't find anything more sinister lurking in there. Thank you so much for the pep talk and advice! Really means a lot. Cheers to staying frosty this summer!
Hey there! Totally feel your pain. I have a 2016 Kia Sportage and had a similar problem a while back. You're on the right track suspecting the ambient temperature sensor. Turns out my ride had a dodgy cable leading from the sensor to the AC system. It wasn’t communicating correctly, hence, the AC was making its own rules about what temp it should be. Those Fahrenheit degrees were all over the place! But, no sweat, it wasn't a super serious issue. My mechanic had to replace the entire cable and double-check the sensor as well. The connection was indeed defective, so that was causing some trouble too. I didn't have the plug issue, but it's always a good practice to have that inspected as well when you're dealing with AC problems. So yeah, stay cool and take it in. You might have a similar case. I hope it sorts out easily and quickly for you like it did for me. Good luck with the repair!
