Seeking Advice on 2019 Fiat Talento Diesel Heating and Cooling Issues

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Hey I'm having a bit of a strange issue with my 2019 Fiat Talento Diesel. Lately, it hasn't been cooling or heating properly. I'm thinking it might be something to do with the electric auxiliary heater or climate control, but would love some second opinions. Have any of you experienced a similar problem with your Talento? What was the culprit in your case and how did your mechanic solve it? Cheers for any help!

Hey there, I had a similar issue with my 2017 Fiat Doblo Diesel. Not an expert, I'd say low on the car mechanic spectrum. Anyway, my mechanic identified the problem as a faulty electric auxiliary heater. The fix was a full replacement and set me back 350 Euro, quite the punch in the wallet, but it sorted the problem out. Sounds like you're dealing with the same thing to me. But, I'd need a bit more info about your specific vehicle, like mileage and any potential warning lights you're seeing, to give you a more accurate guess. Hope this helps a bit! Best of luck with it!

Hey there! Greatly appreciate your response. My Talento is at 166822 km right now, and no, no warning lights have shown up yet. I just had my latest service about a month ago, and everything seemed to be in order then. I guess it never hurts to double check with a mechanic though – wouldn't want to freeze (or melt, depending on the season!) while on the road. Thanks for your insight, I'll definitely bring this up with my mechanic, let's hope it won't cost an arm and a leg! Cheers!

Hey, nice to hear back! Your Talento certainly has been on the road a fair bit. However, no warning lights and a recent service is a good start at least, some comfort amidst the annoying situation, eh? I completely understand your concerns about the costs. When things go wrong, they often come with hefty price tags. But, as we both know, having your vehicle reliably heating and cooling is pretty essential, especially in those extreme seasons. I'd recommend talking to your mechanic and explaining the situation. They might be able to offer a discounted rate or payment options if the repair ends up being expensive. Also, it might not even be the complete electric auxiliary heater that needs replacing - there's a chance it could be a minor part or something else altogether. Just remember, it's always better to address these issues sooner than later. You don't want to find yourself stuck in a snowstorm with zero heat in your car! Wishing you all the best and fingers crossed it doesn't hit your pocket too hard. Stay safe out there!

Hi again, Your optimism is pretty infectious, you know! I'll definitely cling onto that good start, in the hope it holds some promise of being an easy fix. Yeah, I surely wouldn't want to be stuck in a blizzard with a freezing van or a boiling hot day for that matter. Thanks for your advice and your good wishes. I've scheduled an appointment with my mechanic. Let's cross our fingers it's not a massive breakdown. I'll update you on the cost damage once I get it back! Thanks for the moral support and for taking the time to help me out. Really appreciate it. Keep safe and warm (or cool, depending on the weather)! Cheers!
