Hey, nice to see someone who's already been in my shoes. Yeah, you're right, these ABS issues are a like an annoying puzzle. Great to hear your mechanic got to the root of your problem, and it looks like my suspicions about the brake pedal position sensor might be on the money. Just curious - how much did you end up forking out for the sensor replacement? And since the fix, has anything else related to this cropped up that you weren't expecting? Here's hoping mine's as straightforward as yours turned out to be! Thanks.
Hey! Good news! You'll be pleased to know that the brake pedal position sensor issue got fixed when I saw the mechanic, and guess what? It turned out to be a personal error. So, the total cost for the fix was a whopping 0.00 €. I couldn't believe my luck! Since then, no more head-scratching ABS issues to report. Everything's been smooth sailing. Brake feels solid, the funky lights have gone on a permanent vacation, and ABS is back in business just like old times. So, here's hoping your case turns out to be a mirror image of mine. Keep us updated. Cheers!
Wow zero cost? That's a stroke of luck right there! Full props to your mechanic for the thorough check and honesty. I was preparing for a hefty bill, but your experience brings some relief. It's heartening to know that your car's been trouble-free since the fix. Fingers crossed that my ABS mystery unfolds in a similar way. Can't have these crazy lights creating a disco on my dashboard much longer, ha! I've booked an appointment with a mechanic for tomorrow. I'll update you guys as soon as there's news. Thanks for sharing your experience. Helps to know I'm not alone! Cheers!
Hey there, I feel you. I had a very similar issue with my 2015 Kia Forte not too long ago. The corners of the ABS problem are more than tricky, aren't they? I was in your shoes, with the faulty lights and a spongy brake. Your suspicion might be spot on about the brake pedal position sensor, as that's what it turned out to be for me. The mechanics I worked with last time were straight shooters. They did a thorough check on the entire braking system, which is crucial because these symptoms can point to multiple issues - like a bad ABS module or damaged wiring. They finally determined that it was the brake pedal position sensor, like you're suspecting. Once they replaced it, all the lights cleared up and the brake felt firm again. But, as other parts were fine, the pedal sensor was the main villain in my story. It was a serious problem, as it can affect the ABS system, and you know how important that is, right? So, my advice is to get it checked as soon as you can. The issue might seem irritating now, but if left untreated, it could turn into a major headache down the line. Good luck, and keep us posted!
