Wow, that's an eye-opener really didn't see that coming! Your experience with your Q5 got me thinking. So it was the DSC/ABS control unit rather than the brakes, huh? Bit of a curveball there. Just out of curiosity, do you happen to recall how much you ended up forking out for that fix? I'm wondering what I could be in for dollar-wise. Also, has there been any other problems since the repair, or has it been smooth sailing? Appreciate the advice, thanks a lot! Cheers!
Hey again, glad I could provide some insight to your conundrum! When I got my DSC/ABS control unit fixed, it cost me a cool grand, around 1000.00 €. Was a bit of a pinch to my wallet, I tell you, but it sorted the issue out. About the brakes, since my mechanic looked at them, we realised they were actually worn as you suspected with your Q8. So, they were fixed too and I haven't had another problem since then. All in all, it's been smooth motoring since the repair. Hope all goes well with your Audi. Stay safe on the roads! Cheers!
Thanks for the heads-up appreciate your detailed explanation and honest opinion. Looks like I should set aside around 1000.00 € for the possible DSC/ABS control unit repair. Hearing that your brake repair went smoothly is quite reassuring too. Your advice makes me feel more prepared going back to the mechanic. Fingers crossed, she'll be running smoothly once sorted! Thanks a ton once again. Drive safe! Cheers!
Hey there, I had a similar situation with my 2015 Audi Q5. Turned out it wasn't the brakes at all, but the DSC/ABS control unit was faulty. Initially, I didn't think much of it either, but the warning lights wouldn't go off. So, took it to my local garage, good fellas I've known for years. They worked on it, tinkering under the hood for a while. The issue was complex but not seriously endangering driving capability. In the end, that's what was triggering the warning light on the speedometer. So, definitely might be worth getting that checked. Hope this helps you out. Cheers!
