Hey! Thanks for the quick response. Yes, engine warnings are indeed a bummer. I haven't been able to get any error codes yet, as I don't have the necessary equipment for that. My mileage's at 166503 KM now and my last service was just a few months ago. Willing to bet it's the fuel tank flap related since I've been having trouble with it lately. Guess I'll have to take it to the mechanics after all. Hoping for it not costing an arm and a leg. Cheers for the help!
Hey, no problem! It sounds like we're both in the same boat when it comes to our Kias, huh? If it's the same issue as I had with my Soul, it's definitely the tank flap linkage that's acting up, especially considering the trouble you've been having lately with it. As for the cost, yeah it can be a bit of a pain, but I found that €210 was a small price to pay for the peace of mind I got from solving the problem. No more annoying engine warnings and a smooth ride from there on. Honestly, I'd highly recommend taking it into a pro who can pull those codes and give you a definite answer. You don't want to play the guessing game with this kind of things, could lead to more costs long term. And try not to stress too much – I’m sure your Venga has plenty of life left in it! Safe driving!
Hey again! You're right about one thing: peace of mind is worth it. I'll definitely follow up on your advice and take my Venga in to get inspected and sorted out, can't risk any long term damage. The price you paid doesn't seem too bad in the long run, so fingers crossed for a similar outcome. Really appreciate all the guidance. Here's to hoping it'll be on the road without a problem real soon. Safe driving to you too!
Hey there! I got some experience with cars, but just low level stuff really. I had a similar issue with my 2016 Kia Soul Petrol. Sounds like your tank flap is acting up just like mine did; turns out my Linkage was defective as well. The tread heads down at my local workshop sorted it out for around €210. You should definitely get your Kia checked out by a professional though; these engine warnings are a drag. Do you know if you’ve got any error codes stored? That would help me give you a more precise advice. Safe driving!
