Seeking Advice on 2017 Dacia Sandero Diesel's Check Engine Light and DPF Regeneration Issue

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

DPF regeneration failure

Check engine light on

Hey! I'm having a bit of a bother with my 2017 Dacia Sandero Diesel. It's throwing a check engine light, DPF seems to be failing to regenerate, and there's a warning light on my speedometer. I'm suspecting the Ad-Blue system pressure might not be up to snuff - has anyone else faced a similar problem? What was your solution and how was your experience with the workshop that sorted it out? I'd really appreciate any suggestions or shared experiences. Cheers!

Hey! I had a very similar issue with my 2017 Dacia Duster Diesel a year ago. Just to clarify, I'm by no means an expert, but I've got a bit of experience tinkering with my own motor. I ended up at a local workshop after I couldn't put the finger on the issue myself. Turned out, the root cause was a defective Ad-Blue tank. They replaced it for me and since then, no more troubles or warning lights. The damage to my wallet was 1620€, mind you. For more specific advice, it'd be helpful to know more about your vehicle. For instance, what's the mileage and service history like? It could help pinpoint more accurately what might be going on. I hope that helps you out a bit! Good luck getting it sorted.

Hey there! Thanks for the very swift response, it's really appreciated. About the mileage, my Sandero's at 138639 KM now and it was last serviced just a couple of months ago. They didn't find anything out of the ordinary then, just some routine maintenance. I'll definitely keep in mind what you've shared about your experience at the workshop. It's a bummer hearing about the cost though! I guess I'll muster some courage and try reaching out to a local workshop myself. Thanks again!

Hello again! Happy to be of help. With your Dacia Sandero hitting close to 140,000 KM, it's honestly not too surprising if the Ad-Blue system is giving you trouble. After all, this component stuff does wear out over time. Just remember, the cost I mentioned was for my Dacia Duster and the prices can vary from model to model, depending on the complexity of the task, and from workshop to workshop. Don't panic too much about that just yet. There are some steps you can try yourself before you head to a mechanic, like get a diagnostic scan tool (they aren't too expensive) and run a diagnostic check yourself. That might give you a better idea about what's causing that pesky warning light! And if you do end up going to the workshop, just make sure they're reputable and trustworthy. Ask around, read reviews - your peace of mind and wallet deserve that much. You're doing the right thing and you'll sort out the issue soon enough. Keep your chin up!

Hello again! I should definitely consider getting that diagnostic scan tool you've broken a mention of. It sounds like a handy thing to have and could save me from future headaches. I'm gonna start by doing some research on workshops around me, check their reviews, and make a few calls. Yeah, as you said, a bit of due diligence goes a long way for peace of mind and wallet. Thanks again for all the advice! You've been an absolute star. You've definitely eased my worries a bit and I'm feeling a bit more prepared to tackle the issue now. Will keep you posted on how I get on with it. Cheers!
