Seeking Advice on 2016 Volvo V70 Massage Seat Switch Issues

Massage seat without function

Hey everyone, I've got a 2016 Volvo V70 running on gas with a good 76,250KM on it. Lately, my massage seat decided to take a vacation and it ain't coming back. I'm guessing I might have a faulty massage seat switch. Had a bummer experience with my last mechanic, so I'd love to hear anyone else who's faced this problem and have some tips or their experiences with their mechanic. Thanks a bunch!

Hey there, I had a similar issue with my 2013 Volvo S60. Same situation, the seats just quit on me one day. Turned out, the problem wasn't with the switch but with the cable connection/plug behind it. It was pretty much defective and not passing the commands properly. Had a mechanic check it on my last visit to the garage - didn't require any complicated work, just replacing the faulty cable connection/plug. It did cause some inconvenience but not that serious if you ask me, my mechanic had it sorted in a jiffy. Go ahead and get that checked, may find your solution there. Hope this helps!

Hey, Really appreciate your input. So the culprit might be a defective cable connection and not the switch right? Interesting, didn't consider that. I'll pass this onto my new mechanic, hopefully we can sort it out fast. By any chance do you recall what you had to cough up dollars-wise to get it fixed? And have you had any other related issues since the fix? Cheers!

Hey there, No worries, glad I could help with some ideas. To answer your question, I ended up coughing up roughly 95€ for the whole cable connection/plug fix. Seemed right for a small inconvenience like this, and I can tell you it was worth every penny to get the massage seat working again. As for any other related issues, thankfully none so far. Ever since my mechanic gave it a once over, the switch hasn't given me any grief. It's been all smooth cruising and comfy seating ever since. Seems like paying my mechanic a visit did the trick in solving the mystery of the lazy massage seat. Hope you sort yours out soon. Cheers!

Hey, Thanks a ton for the additional info. €95, isn't a bad deal at all, especially if it gets my massage seat up and running again. I was thinking it'd be more, so that's a bit of a relief! I'm going to schedule an appointment with my mechanic and will definitely bring up the whole cable connection issue. Fingers crossed that this does the trick and my massage seat starts pulling its weight again. Thanks for weighing in, you've been a great help! Take care and keep enjoying those smooth and comfy rides, Cheers.
