Hey there, thanks for sharing your experience! I last serviced my Mazda at 147,577 KM and replaced the filters at that time as well. I think I should consider your advice about sorting out the DPF. It's a relief to know you got your problem fixed, hope I'll be as lucky. Cheers back!

Hey again! Based on what you just told me, it seems like your Mazda has a decent amount of mileage on it, similar to mine when I had the problem. That's probably why your DPF might be overloaded, just as mine was. In our case, the exhaust back pressure sensor may indeed cause the DPF regeneration failure by giving the wrong data to the ECU, leading to a forced DPF regeneration process. With that process failing, the check engine light comes on and the engine can lose power. So your guess about the sensor could be spot on. I'd definitely suggest taking your car to a mechanic for diagnosis and possible DPF deep cleaning. It cost me a bit but it sure was worth it. Just keep in mind that every car is unique and there might be other culprits causing those symptoms. But based on my experience with my own 2014 Mazda and your description of the issues you’ve been having, it sounds like we've had a similar experience. Keep us posted on the development. All the best!

Thanks a bunch for your insights and suggestions, really appreciate it. You're right - my Mazda has been driven quite a bit, so there's a high chance that the DPF might need a cleaning. Also, I hadn't put much thought into the role of the exhaust back pressure sensor, but your explanation makes complete sense. I'll get my car checked and will discuss these points with the mechanic. I'm hopeful that, like you, I'll be able to solve this annoying issue. Will surely keep you folks updated about how things turn out. Cheers and thanks again for the guidance!

Hey! I feel your pain. I've faced a pretty similar issue with my 2014 Mazda 3. I would categorize myself as having some experience with car mechanics, though definitely not a pro. I actually took mine to a local workshop and it turned out the DPF was severely overloaded, which kinda matches up with your problem. We went ahead and did a deep cleaning of the DPF and it set me back around 1325€, but my ride has been smooth ever since. However, without knowing your car's specifics, I can only guess. Could you provide more info about your car? For instance, when did you last replace the filters, your mileage, or when was the last time it was serviced? That'll help me provide a more accurate advice. Cheerio!
