Seeking Advice on 2015 Toyota Ractis Gasoline Engine Heating/Cooling Issues

A/C System Not Engaging

Air conditioning blows warm air

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Hey! I've got a 2015 Toyota Ractis Gasoline engine experiencing a couple of weird symptoms. It's not cooling/heating as it should, the A/C system is giving me the cold shoulder and just blows warm air. I reckon it's probably a glitch in the air-con but could do with some pointers to figure it out. Anybody faced the same drama and had it sorted by their garage? Share your wisdom, would ya? How did they fix the bug and was your experience smooth? Thanks a bunch!

Hey! I went through a pretty similar ordeal with my 2013 Toyota Corolla, same brand and just a couple years older. My game with cars isn't that strong, but got a low to some experience, I'd say. The beast wasn't cooling or heating up like it should, just like your ride's doing. So, off to the workshop I go. Turns out, it was a faulty individual valve in the air conditioning system. Kinda like the heart of the A/C, if you will. The mechanic didn't have a tough time spotting it and I gave the green signal to get it fixed. The best part? Didn't have to break the bank as the cost was zilch, zero Euro. Sometimes, a warranty got your back, y'know. Just a pointer, check on your warranty. Anyway, what's the mileage on your Toyota? And you got any earlier repairs or replacements done on your Ractis? Might be able to clue you in better if I got more info. Hope this helps you out a bit.

Appreciate the quick response! Your ordeal sounds eerily similar to mine. Well, my Ractis' odometer reads a little shy off 58795 KM now. She's been a solid ride so far, haven't really done any overhaul or replacements, just the usual maintenance. Since I bought her, she's been serviced as per schedule, with the last one quite recent. I'm definitely going to get it checked by a good mechanic and touch wood, the warranty should cover the fix. Thanks heaps for sharing your two cents, it sure did give me a direction.

Cheers for the deets! Just under 60k KM and a routine service track record leans more towards the possibility of a faulty part. She's not an old gal, so the engine itself shouldn't be in the possible suspect list. Best bet would be to have a thorough look at the A/C system, especially the control valves. If it's nothing major, it should still be covered under your warranty. Remember to ask them to inspect the A/C compressor and the refrigerant levels as well. Sometimes, leaks can cause these symptoms but the fix is rather easy. Get the system recharged if necessary. And yeah, don't let the problem sit for too long. Better to nip it in the bud than let it grow into a big hassle. Got my fingers crossed for you. Keep us posted on how it goes, eh? Best of luck!

Bang on! Now that you say it, it's sinking in. Honestly, I've been avoiding this because I thought it might leave a dent in the pocket, but you're right, better to tackle it ASAP than let it turn into a real nightmare. Your input regarding the A/C compressor and refrigerant levels is really helpful. Will make sure the mechanic goes through it all thoroughly. Done deal then, off to the garage it is next week and fingers crossed I’ve got the warranty safety net. Will definitely keep you guys posted with updates. Thanks a ton for your time and sharing your knowledge, really appreciate it! Cheers!
