Hey, thanks for your response. My LX hasn't had any mods done recently. It's basically stock, and just passed the 112119km mark. My latest service was nothing out of the ordinary but with this AC issue, I'm starting to get a bit frazzled. Your point about the control unit sounds plausible - I might take it to my usual service guy to check it out, but I'd still welcome any more advice from here. Safe driving, and cheers for helping a fellow Lexus owner out!
Hey again! I completely feel your pain - these kind of problems can definitely make you sweat a little (pun intended!). With that kind of mileage on your LX, wear and tear could be causing a few gremlins to pop up. You've got a good plan getting your regular service guy to take a look at the control unit. While you're at it, though, I'd suggest he also checks the AC compressor and the refrigerant levels. You wouldn't believe how often low refrigerant levels can wreak havoc on an otherwise fine AC system! AC problems are often due to more than one faulty component, so exploring a bit might save you from another headache down the road. Naturally, these are just pointers based on my own encounter. Every car's story can be a bit unique. You might find it useful to check for any leakage or blockage in the AC lines too. Good luck with everything! Here's hoping your LX gets back to its chilled-out best soon. Keep us posted about what your service guy finds, and safe driving!
Hey there, thanks a million for the in-depth advice! I totally get your point about the wear and tear and the potential for multiple problem areas. Checking the AC compressor and the refrigerant levels does sound like a good path to take. The leakage or blockage tip hits close to home - something I hadn't thought about but you're absolutely right, it could be a clandestine problem. Appreciate your wishes and will keep the forum updated with my service guy's findings. He's got a solid track record so I'm hopeful. Keep your fingers crossed for me! Cheers and may the road always rise to meet you!
Hey there! Sounds a lot like something I faced with my 2015 Lexus LX. Speaking as a car enthusiast with some experience under my belt, it turned out to be the air conditioning control unit in my ride that was the real troublemaker. I took it to my regular mechanic and after a fair amount of troubleshooting, he confirmed my suspicions. The whole fixing up process set me back by about 980 Euro. I hope this insight helps, but it's always good to be sure. Could you maybe give a detail or two more about your car? Things like the exact model or recent modifications could help discover anything else that might be causing this.
