Seeking Advice on 2015 Hyundai Mistra's Engine Shaking Issue Possibly Linked to Vacuum-controlled Mounts

Vibrations from the engine

Hey, got a weird shake coming from my 2015 Hyundai Mistra with a Gas engine. I'm suspecting it could be an issue with the vacuum-controlled engine mounts, but not entirely sure. Has anyone experienced something similar? How did your workshop handle it? Appreciate any advice or shared experiences, cheers!

Hey there, I had a similar issue with my 2013 Hyundai Sonata, so our cars aren't too far apart in terms of age. I wouldn't say I'm a car guru but I've got a fair bit of experience poking around under the bonnet, so I've seen a few things. My workshop thought it might’ve been the vacuum-controlled engine mounts too, but it turned out the cable/connector on the engine mount was defective. Cost me about 165€ to have it fixed, and no more weird vibrations since! Could you share more about the issue you're facing? Any specific conditions when the shaking occurs or something? That could help me to offer more specific advice. Cheers let's get your car fixed!

Hey! Thanks for the swift reply! The 'ol Mistra here has got around 67,856 km on the clock, last serviced a couple of months back. About the shaking, it's rather interesting. I notice it mostly when I'm stopped in traffic or waiting at the lights. It doesn't happen all at once, kind of comes on gradually, you know? Doesn't seem related to how I'm driving or anything. From what you shared, I'm thinking I should have my mechanic check the engine mount cable/connector as well. 165 Euro sounds reasonable if it solves the issue. Cheers for the tip! Let’s hope she stops shaking around like a scared chihuahua. Keep you posted with the updates!

Hey again, Ah, yes, with that kind of mileage and service history, it does seem a tad early to be facing these kinds of symptoms! The way you describe the shaking sure does sound familiar! In my Sonata, the vibrations only rattled my bones when the car wasn’t in motion too. That might be because the vacuum-controlled engine mounts are meant to minimize vibrations when the engine is idle and these vibrations can intensify if there's a fault somewhere. And yeah, having your mechanic take a look at the engine mount cable/connector seems like a solid idea, given my experience. Just a heads up though, the cost could be different for you, depending on the labour costs and parts pricing in your area. But fingers crossed it’s gonna solve the issue as it did for me! Looking forward to hearing about your progress. Here's hoping your Mistra gives up on her Chihuahua impressions soon, haha! Take care and all the best with the repair work! Cheers!

Hey! Your insight's been super helpful! Really glad I could chat up with someone who went through something similar. Your Sonata's situation strikingly mirrors mine - might really be onto something here! I'll definitely remember your heads up about the cost. Hoping it doesn't put a big dent in my wallet, but if it gets my Mistra back to her smooth self, it's worth it. You've been a great help, truly! Alrighty then, time for me to deal with this shaky business. I will keep you looped in with what goes down. Let's hope Mistra shakes off this Chihuahua act pretty soon! Thanks for the incredible support and I'll be in touch. Cheers and take care!
