Hello there! Thank you for your suggestion, I never would've thought it could be a fuse issue, simple yet quite a nuisance if installed incorrectly, huh? Good to know your Sonata didn’t give you a tough time and everything got sorted out without costing you anything. For my Elantra, its mileage is currently at 25402 KM and it last had a service just about three months ago. Also, no modification work's been done so far. Just the usual stuff - oil change, filter replacements, and brake pad checks. In case the fuse isn’t the culprit in my situation, any ideas on what else to keep an eye out for? Thanks again for your help! It's really appreciated!
Hey again, Thanks for providing more details. Sounds like your Elantra is well maintained and serviced regularly, good job on that! Given how low your mileage is and your recent servicing and routine checks, I doubt it's anything too serious. If the fuse isn't the problem, my next guess would be issues with the ABS module or wiring. These could cause both the ABS light and brake light to trigger. You mentioned your brake pedal isn't responding properly - this could be due to either a fault in the brake booster or a leak in the brake system. And if that warning light in the speedometer stays on, it might be something as simple as a sensor issue, or as complicated as a fault in the speedometer or the car's ECU. These are just a few possibilities, and I highly recommend taking your Elantra to a trusted professional to get a full diagnostic. Dealing with brake and ABS issues aren't something you'd want to mess with without the right skill set. All the best! Sorry I couldn't be more decisive, but without actually seeing your car, it's tricky to give a definite answer. Do let us know how it turns out! Cheers!
Hi again! No worries, your insights have been super helpful. I never thought I'd be learning so much about my own car in this situation. And, you're right. Better consult a professional to be on the safe side considering the potential ABS module or wiring issues, and the brake booster or brake system fault. I'll definitely check out these possibilities and get that diagnostic done soon. Thanks a bunch for helping me out with this. Will keep you updated on how it goes. Take care and cheers!
Hey, just a hobbyist with some experience on cars' electronics here, but I've had a similar thing happen recently on my 2017 Hyundai Sonata. Turns out, the bugger was a personal error! We found the brake pedal position sensor to be all right. What actually happened was the incorrect installation of the anti-lock brake fuse. After re-installing the fuse correctly at my local workshop, every light that had turned on the dashboard switched off and every system got back to normal. Luckily, it didn't cost a cent as it was just a fuse installation mistake. Might be worth checking the fuse placement in your Elantra. If you’re still stuck, it might help if you could provide more info about your vehicle. For instance, your ABS/DSC system's previous service history, any modification work done etc.? Hope this helps you out good luck!
