Seeking Advice on 2015 Dacia Logan's Troublesome AC Control Panel and Blower

Blower does not work properly

Hey! I've got a 2015 Dacia Logan, gasoline model, which has racked up about 126,043 KM on the counter. Lately, my blower's been acting up and I suspect the air conditioning control panel is to blame. If you've faced something similar or have any insights on what to expect from the mechanic's visit, please do share. Last time wasn’t the best experience and I’d sure appreciate knowing a bit more this time. Thanks in advance!

Hey there! Funny enough, I had a similar issue with my Dacia Duster, a 2012 model, not so long ago. Blower wasn't doing its job right and my A/C started acting strange. From my own experience, I can tell you that it’s not unheard of these cars having some wear and tear in the cable connections, especially after racking up those kilometers. I took it to my trusty mechanic, and after a fair bit of poking around, we discovered a defective cable connection right behind the control panel that was causing all the fuss. My Duster needed the exact same cable connection replaced. Now, to ease some of your worries, it wasn't a catastrophic problem but something that needed immediate attention for proper functioning of the blower and the A/C. Remember, though, that every case can be unique. This was my personal experience, and your Logan's issue may be similar, or it might be something else entirely. Hope this info gives you a heads-up before your mechanic's visit. Best of luck!

Hey, cheers for that reply! Really appreciate the insight. That does make me a bit less anxious knowing it's not as bad as I feared. Your experience with the Dacia Duster seems pretty close to what I've been going through with my Logan. But I'm curious how much did you end up shelling out for the cable replacement, if you don't mind me asking? It would be really helpful to have a rough figure in mind before dealing with my mechanic. And another thing, has anything similar cropped up since you got that sorted? Just trying to be prepared for any other surprises down the line. Thanks again for all the info!

Hey! No problem at all, always happy to help a fellow car guy out. To answer your first question, getting that pesky cable connection replaced set me back 210€, give or take. So, while it wasn’t exactly chump change, I reckon it was still a fair deal considering how necessary the fix was. And as for your second question, since sorting out that issue, I haven't faced anything similar or otherwise concerning. My air conditioning control panel has been working like a dream since the mechanic did his magic. It really made a world of difference. Remember just because you rack up the miles doesn't necessarily mean you're heading into problem city. Most of the issues can be pretty standard wear and tear stuff. Just gotta lean on a good mechanic and you’ll have your Logan up and runnin' in no time. All the best!

Hey there Can't thank you enough for your helpful response. That price does sting a little, but I suppose it's worth it to get the blower and A/C working smoothly again. After all, I am fond of my Logan and it's better to deal with these issues promptly than letting them escalate down the line. Really glad to hear that you haven't dealt with anything similar since fixing that issue. Your experience does give me a bit of confidence walking back into the mechanic's garage. And you're right. The good old ‘listen-to-your-trusty-mechanic’ mantra should hold me in good stead. Just gotta remember, it's all part of the joy (and sometimes tribulations) of owning a car! Again, I appreciate your input and the cost insight; it really made a difference for me. Cheers and happy motoring!
