Seeking Advice on 2014 Nissan Cima Gasoline Engine Issues: Unsteady Power, Jerky Acceleration, and Potential Tank Ventilation System Leak

Jerking on acceleration

Unsteady engine

Stalling while idling

Loss of engine power

Check engine light on

Shaking while idling

Hey everyone, need some advice here. My 2014 Nissan Cima with a gasoline engine has been acting up recently. Got the check engine light on, it's losing power, the engine isn't steady, and it jerks on acceleration. Also, it stalls and shakes while idling. I'm thinking this could be due to a leak in the tank ventilation system. Has anyone experienced something similar and could give me some pointers on how to deal with this? How did your workshop fix the issue? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hey, fellow motorhead! Had a same kinda pickle with my 2012 Nissan Fuga a while back. I’d say I got some experience with cars but not a total gearhead. Took the lady to my local workshop and they did their magic. Turns out it was the activated carbon filter creating the fuss - pretty much defective. Cost me around 275 Euro to get it back to normal- not cool, right? Just so I can help you better: have you got any work done recently? Or can you share more specifics on your baby? Every bit helps! Hang in there!

Hey! Thanks for the reply. As for your question, I just got her serviced at around 59953 KM but it was just routine stuff. Didn't go in for any specific repairs or parts replacement. Never had any major issues till now, which is why this one's gotten me a bit worried, you know. Based on your experience, looks like I might need to get the carbon filter checked. Gonna need to get that wallet ready, huh? Thanks again for your input. Appreciate it!

Hey! Not a problem, we're all in this together, aren't we? So, it seems like you're keeping her well. Good on ya! You're right on the money, based on what you've shared, guess checking the carbon filter might be your next step then. Don't sweat it too much though, it's a bummer but I was back on the road in no time. And yeah, time to get that wallet prepared, I guess. Let's hope it's an easy fix like mine was and nothing too serious. Keep us posted, we're here to help! Stay safe and don't let the car issues get to you. Cheers!

Thanks for the morale boost! Your experience and advice are definitely helpful in this situation. I'll get her checked out as soon as possible and yes, fingers crossed that it's nothing serious. And no worries, I won't let it get me down. Cars, right? They're like moody children sometimes. But we love 'em anyway! I'll keep you posted about how things go down. Until then, happy driving to you too! Thanks again! Cheers!
