Hey, thanks for your response! It's interesting that you had an exhaust leak. My S60 has covered about 54220 kilometers, and the last service was pretty recent. Here's to hoping that it's something as 'simple' as an exhaust leak and not a more costly problem!

Hey! No problem, glad to help where I can. Given your car's fairly low mileage and recent service, your issue could indeed resemble mine. Now, we can't be sure it's the exhaust, could still be numerous things. But although our Volvo's are different models, they share many similarities, right? One thing that crossed my mind though - besides the leaky exhaust, I also had a dirty air filter that I got replaced. It can mess up the whole fuel thriftiness and cause unsteady engine and smoking. Sounds familiar, huh? Here's my advice - get that exhaust & air filter checked first of all. Keep me posted, yeah? Hoping it's nothing too serious for your lady as well!

Thanks for your insight! I hadn't thought about the air filter, but it sounds like swapping it out did wonders for your Volvo. I'll definitely get both the exhaust and air filter looked at as you suggested. Fingers crossed that we're on the right track and it's something manageable. Appreciate the help, will try to update when I figure out what's going on!

Hey there! So I actually had a similar kind of issue with my 2009 Volvo S80. As for my car knowledge, well, I'm at a 'some experience' level. Went through a bunch of checkups with my good ol' workshop. Turned out, in my case at least, the exhaust was leaking and no Lambda sensor issue. Cost me a cool 265€ to get it patched up. Instant difference I tell you! Anyhoo, could you share some more info about your vehicle? Like mileage and last service date. It’d really help me understand your situation better. Remember, it’s all in the details!
