Seeking Advice on 2011 Kia Optima Cold Engine and Loud Exhaust Noise Issues

Last time it saw a garage was during the regular service session – no major parts replaced or fixed recently. Your diagnostic could very well be the issue. With 66822 KM on the clock, your Optima, by general standards, should still be in decent condition, assuming of course good maintenance, decent quality oil and a careful foot on the gas! Exhaust flap issues are fairly common, and luckily, not too difficult (or painful on the wallet) to sort out at the local garage. The key thing now will be to not ignore the noise. Keep in mind, while it's a good chance the exhaust flap is the culprit, it could always be something else. Your mechanic will figure it out and put your worries to bed. Would be a good idea to get that quote as soon as you can. And remember, it never hurts to get a second opinion if something seems way off. Hey, cheers for the supportive words and the useful advice there! As you said, it's better not to ignore this and get it thoroughly checked so that there are no latent issues. I'm going to arrange an appointment with the mechanic as soon as possible to get this sorted. I'll definitely get a second opinion if the quote seems off, thanks for that tip.
