Thanks for the quick reply! You might be on to something with the starter motor idea. My Forte is a 2011 model, running on a Gasoline engine. Oh, and it's clocked around 72775 KM since my last service update. I'm not too skilled with the inner workings of a car, so I just might have to swing by my local workshop like you did. Keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't burn a big hole in my pocket. Your story gives me hope. Thanks!
No problem! Happy to help. Given the model and mileage of your Kia Forte, it's quite possible that the starter motor could be the culprit. Years and mileage definitely take a toll on it. But keep in mind, the battery could also be a factor here. If it's old or hasn't been replaced in a while, it might not be holding charge as it used to. That would explain the dimming lights and weak start-up. I'd suggest you get that checked too when you visit the workshop. When you do go for it, ask them for a thorough check-up just to rule out any other potential issues. Lucky for us, most workshops have equipment that can check the electrical systems in our cars pretty well. And hey, don't worry too much about the cost, think of it as an investment for smooth rides in the future. Hope this works out for you. Wish you all the best with your car troubles. You've made some valid points there! I didn't consider the fact that the battery could be contributing to the issue as well. I'll definitely make sure to ask for a thorough check-up. Your positivity is contagious! I appreciate your help and viewpoint. I'll let you know what happens when I get it checked out. Until then, cheers and lets keep learning about our four-wheeled friends like you said. Thanks again!
Hey there! Sounds like a familiar problem. I had a similar situation with my 2009 Kia Optima. Honestly, I've got some experience with cars, but I'm not a pro. Turned out to be a defective starter motor, causing all those tricky symptoms you're dealing with right now. I got it handled at my local workshop - good folks and not too shabby on the price neither. Ran me around 565€ to get it all shipshape again. Can you give a bit more specifics about your model? Engine type? Mileage? Could help pinpoint your issue a bit better. Hang in there, these car troubles are never easy.
