Seeking Advice on 2011 Hyundai Grandeur's Issues: Warning Light, Locks, and Start-Up

Locking/Unlocking issue

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Car won't start

Hey! I've got a bit of a pickle here with my 2011 Hyundai Grandeur running on gas. The warning light's popping up on the speedometer, I'm having trouble with the locks, and worst of all, it just won't start. I've got a hunch that it could be the ignition key Hall sensor playing up but I'd like to hear your thoughts on it. Anyone else ever had this problem and how did your workshop fix it? I'd really appreciate any advice you've got. Cheers!

Hey! I've had a similar issue with my 2009 Hyundai Sonata. I'm no expert, but I have some experience playing around with cars. In my case, the problem was a defective insertion slot. Trust me it was a nightmare. Took it to the local workshop, where they carried out a detailed diagnostic and fixed it up. The whole thing cost me about 290 Euro, but it solved the problem. Could you possibly share more details about your car's condition? Happy to help out where I can. Chat soon!

Hey, thanks for your reply. That's some good info. I last serviced the old beast about 3 months back at 65667 KM, everything seemed fine then. But now, the warning light still lingers, and the central lock's acting all wonky. It’s giving me a proper headache. I totally forgot about the slot. I'll look into it and check if there’s a similar issue. Cheers for the help!

Hey there! It's a bummer that the problems are still persisting. Given the symptom you've described, it very well could be an issue with the ignition key Hall sensor but it's usually pretty rare. In my case, I initially thought the same but yeah, it turned out to be the insertion slot instead. You might want to check the vehicle's battery too as sometimes it can also cause these issues - unusual warning lights, locks not functioning properly, and the car not starting. My cousin had a similar snag and it was just a weak battery all along. I'm no mechanic but these are just some suggestions based on my own experience. It's best to take her back to the workshop for a full diagnostic. Keep us posted on the progress and good luck getting it sorted!

Hey, you’re a champ! I never thought about the battery being a potential issue. That’s what I'm talking about - advice from people who’ve had similar experiences! This has given me quite a bit of relief, thanks a bunch! I'll check both the sensor and battery before I go rushing off to the workshop. I'll drop an update ones I get this ol' bull back on the road. Cheers to you and your cousin for the handy hints. Great stuff!
