Hey, appreciate the feedback! The information about the TCU was really useful. My Logan's mileage is currently at 109330 KM, and it last saw the workshop for a regular service about three months backs, got the oil and filters changed then. The warning light appears to be an exclamation mark nested in what looks like a gear symbol. As for other symptoms, I noticed sometimes there is a delay when I shift from park to drive, and the gear change isn’t smooth when driving. It's more noticeable after the car has been running for a while. I'll bring up the TCU when I take the car to the workshop and hopefully, the price won't be as steep as yours, fingers crossed. Thanks for the help! Safe travels to you too!
Hey, great to hear back from you. The added details are super helpful. The exclamation mark inside the gear icon is often the 'transmission warning light.' It lights up when there's an issue with your transmission system. Given your description of a delayed shift and the symptoms worsening as the car runs does point towards a malfunctioning TCU or some transmission component. This is consistent with the trouble my Duster had. I understand worries about the potential costs, but it's good you're taking the car in for a check. It's better to catch a transmission issue early before it escalates into something more serious. Don't forget to ask if they can run a diagnostic scan - it should be able to detect any troubles with the TCU or other transmission components. Just a side thought, your car's mileage isn't very high for a 2011 model. An issue this serious shouldn't typically pop up at that mileage, but I guess it's just one of those things. The best we can do is be proactive. Wishing you luck with the workshop. Stay safe and let us know how it goes!
Many thanks for the in-depth explanation and advice! It gives me relief to have an idea about what I can expect at the workshop and what steps I should take. The diagnostic scan definitely sounds like a prudent course of action to identify the root of the problem. Yes, you're right about the mileage, a bit unfortunate but sometimes these things just happen, right? I'll ensure to keep all this in mind and be proactive during my visit to the workshop. And surely, I'll update the group about the overall outcome. Thanks again for giving me direction in this, greatly appreciated! Safe driving and talk soon!
Hey there, I've encountered something similar with my 2009 Dacia Duster. I've only got some experience with car stuff, so I'm no pro, but here's what I did. Turns out my Transmission Control Unit (TCU) was kaput. Took it to my local workshop, and after some diagnostics, they confirmed it was the TCU. They settled the issue by replacing it and it cost me about 1000€. Not cheap, but it resolved the slipping transmission and the lights on the speedometer. Without knowing more about your Logan, I can't give any specifics. But if your issue sounds similar, consider having the TCU checked. If possible, can you give more details about the warning light and any other symptoms? That'd help in pinning it down more accurately. Hope this helps. Stay safe!
