Hey, appreciate your quick response! You know what, I didn't even think about a wiring harness issue, though it totally makes sense. My Croma's odometer reads 78148 km, pretty decent for a 10-year-old, right? Latest service was done without any bells and whistles a couple of months ago, just usual stuff including oil changes and filters. Regarding your suggestion, I'm getting her checked out first chance I get tomorrow. Will keep you and the rest of the group posted on the diagnosis. Keep your fingers crossed for me, and thanks heaps again! Enjoy your ride.
Hey again! Glad I could be of some help. Considering the mileage and the age, your Croma is indeed doing rather well! Regular servicing is key, so kudos for being on top of that. Concerning my previous gear issue, wiring harness was my nemesis. Since our models are pretty close, chances are we might have just diagnosed your problem too. But remember, cars have their own way of surprising us, so keep an open mind for other potential issues. Best of luck at the workshop tomorrow - let's hope it's nothing too drastic and they can sort it out pretty quick. Eagerly awaiting the update on what they find, and hoping for the best! Cheers!
Hey, cheers for that! It's good to get this heads-up from people who have actually been there and done that. Yeah, gotta agree, these motors have a mind of their own, don't they? Right you are about keeping an open mind, and fingers crossed it's just another bump in the road. Will head down to the workshop ASAP tomorrow, and I'll definitely give you an update. Thanks heaps for the help – you're a lifesaver! Drive safe.
Hey there, I reckon we're in the same boat. I've got a 2012 Fiat Bravo, so pretty close to your Croma. While I'm not a mechanic or anything, I've dealt with a similar weird issue. Let's say I have some experience with cars because of these uninvited issues popping up. In my case, the issue wasn't about a faulty gear selection. There was a problem with the wiring harness, which sure had me scratching my head for a while. Took it to my local workshop and they diagnosed it for me. They totally nailed it and got it fixed for around 180€. Best part is, no more whining or grinding noise. I'd recommend having your Croma's wiring harness checked. However, it would be helpful if you could tell more about the vehicle like mileage, maintenance history, so I can suggest something more concrete. Fingers crossed!
