Thanks for your insight,! Good to know that you've experienced something similar. I think you're right about the visit to the mechanic; probably gonna get that sorted during the weekend. By the way, I forgot to mention, my Peugeot's mileage is currently at 187517 KM, and I've been keeping up with regular service. Had my latest service about 2 months ago. It hasn't given me any major headaches up till now, except this pesky issue. Hoping to get it fixed soon so I can drive without worries, fingers crossed! Appreciate your help!
Hey there,! Sounds like you've been pretty diligent with your maintenance, which is great to hear! That mileage indicates your Peugeot has served you well and good. In my case, around this odometer reading, my 307 started to enact some strange performance too. But even after the camshaft sensor replacement, it came back to its original youth - even with a similar mileage to yours Then again, every car has its own personality! Just a word of advice though; when you're at the mechanic, consider having them check the crankshaft sensor as well. Sometimes the issues you described might be more than a camshaft sensor - not to scare you, but it's better to be safe than sorry. I hope your visit to the garage sorts everything out, and your Peugeot's check engine light shall blink no more. Fingers crossed for a smooth repair process and many more worry-free drives! Cheers and keep us updated on how it goes!
Hey, appreciate the advice! I'll be sure to ask them to have a look at the crankshaft sensor too. You've given me some reassurance, I'm kinda hoping my old Peugeot will bounce back like your 307 did after its fix. Will give it a shot and see how it pans out, and definitely keep you guys posted! Cheers and thanks again for the suggestions!
Hey there,! Your quirk sounds quite familiar indeed. I've had a similar issue with my 2006 Peugeot 307, only a slightly different model but quite identical in many respects. Now, I'm no mechanic, but I fiddle around with cars a bit, so I'd say I've got some experience, not a huge amount, but enough to get me by. I took my car to my local workshop and they found the issue straight away. It was indeed the sensor wheel on the camshafts that was faulty - you're spot on with your diagnosis! I entrusted them with the repair work and it set me back about 695€. Not cheap, but that resolved the problems and my car's been running smoothly since. You might want to share a bit more information about your car like current mileage, maintenance history. That might help in nailing down the cause and offering a more specific solution. But from my experience, a visit to a trustworthy mechanic should do the trick. Hope this helps!
