Hey, thanks for sharing your experience. Sounds exactly like mine. What a relief knowing it's this little fellow which is causing all these troubles. Do you recall how much you shelled out for getting this ol' electric switch valve fixed? And have you faced any other issues crop up since this was fixed, related or otherwise? Any additional info would be awesome. Cheers!

Hey there! No problem at all, happy to share. So, if memory serves me right, I coughed up around 140€ to get the pesky electric switch valve sorted out. Not exactly pocket change, but definitely worth it to have the old girl running smoothly again. Once that was handled, it was mostly smooth sailing. Importantly, the mechanic was able to get the control of the secondary air valve back on point after the fix. All the issues I was facing were connected to that, so once that was squared away, knocks on wood, things have been running pretty much problem-free. But hey remember, every car is different, so don't skip any regular check-ups for the best experience! Safe driving!

Bingo, that's just the kind of information I needed. Fixing it won't be cheap, but at least I know what I'm dealing with now. It's a relief to hear that this solution worked out well for you. Sounds like a trip to the mechanic is on the cards for this weekend. Thanks for reassuring me that I'm not about to lose my trusty old steed. I'll definitely keep up with those regular check-ups too. Safe travels to you as well. Cheers!

Hey, I've got a 2010 Volvo S80 and had something similar a while back. My wasted gas and exhaust were all over the place, and yeah, the engine light was pretty much a Christmas ornament. After a couple of trial and error visits to the mechanic, we pinned it down to the Electric switch valve - the culprit causing all the mischief. Had to get the darn thing patched up. Yep, it was the secondary air valve, as you're suspecting. This thing was causing my engine to suck in more air than needed, leading to all the havoc. Not that serious if it's fixed early, but ignoring could cost you a lot of unnecessary headaches. A good mechanics can sort this. But remember, sooner you check it out, smoother rides you'll have! Good luck!
