Seeking Advice on 2007 Mazda 2 Diesel's Headlight Cleaning System Issues

Headlight cleaning system without function

Hey guys, I've got a bit of a problem with my 2007 Mazda 2 Diesel. I've noticed the headlight cleaning system isn't working properly. I suspect it might be because the washer fluid level is low, but I prefer to have some real-life advice here. Did anyone else face the same issue? What was your experience with the workshop? What was the fix? Any advice would be really appreciated!

Hey there, I had a similar fuss with my 2005 Mazda 3 Diesel a while back. You could say I've got some experience with cars, enough to handle minor mishaps. Took it to my usual fix-it shop, and indeed, the washing liquid level was too low to properly clean the headlights. They sorted it out in a jiffy, only set me back 25 Euro to fill it up and get the system checked. But hey, just to give you a more detailed guidance, could I have a bit more specifics about your car? Like model and recent changes or repairs?

Hey, cheers for the quick advice. My model's a 2007 Mazda 2 Diesel, haven't had any other major issues so far, touch wood. Just got some routine maintenance done during my latest service with the mileage at around 15853 KM. They didn't mention anything about the headlight cleaning system though. So, reckon it's the same issue you had?

Hey again. Given that your car is pretty similar to mine, I'd say there's a good chance that your issue might indeed be tied to the washer fluid level. As I mentioned before, the lack of washing liquid was causing the headlight cleaning system not to function properly on my 2005 Mazda 3 Diesel. Just a heads-up, if you haven't already, do check your washer fluid reservoir. If it's nearly empty, fill it up and see if that fixes the issue. Based on my experience, that settled the problem right away without needing any expensive repairs. If that doesn't do the trick, or if you're not comfortable checking on your own, I'd advise you to take your ride to a reliable garage. In my case, it only cost me a couple of Euro, so wouldn't hurt your pocket too much either. Oh, and do keep an eye on the fluid level after you top it up. If it goes down real quick, you might have a leak somewhere. Just something to think about. Good luck with it!

Yo, thanks a lot for the detailed advice. Seems like your past experience really might be a lifesaver here! I'll go ahead and check the washer fluid reservoir and fill it up as you suggested. If it still doesn't work, I'll head to my regular garage. Fingers crossed it's just the same simple issue like you had. And I'll definitely keep that potential leak in mind. Thanks again and wish me luck, gonna need it!
