Hey there, Wow, seems like you hit the nail right on the head with the diagnosis! Hate to think about the repair costs though. Do you recall roughly how much you ended up shelling out to sort this out? Also, any additional unexpected issues pop up since then? Appreciate the reassurance and the advice, I'll make sure I hunt for a mechanic who knows their way around a Volvo Diesel engine. Cheers!

Hey, Let me tell you, it wasn't as bad as I was bracing myself for. For the repair job on the wiring harness to the boost pressure actuator, it cost me around 155€. Fairly decent, don't you think? In terms of unexpected stuff, I'm happy to report smooth sailing since the fix. I actually visited the mechanic ever since to ensure that the boost pressure actuator malfunction was entirely sorted out, and trust me, it has not reared its ugly head again. My lady has been running smooth and fine, just like old days. So, chin up! It seems daunting, but hang in there. Wit' a bit of patience and a good mechanic, you'll see through this. Keep on truckin'!

Hey, Cheers for the swift and encouraging response! €155 seems like a fair deal to get my Swedish beauty back on track, especially considering the nightmares I've been imagining. Glad to know yours is back to her fine former self and there are no unwelcome surprises, fingers crossed mine follows suit. Off to start my hunt for a top-notched Volvo Diesel-savvy mechanic then. Will keep you posted on the progress. Ride on!

Hey, I feel you, had a kinda similar issue with my Volvo V70 2008 Diesel a while back. It was having power issues, a shaky engine, and throwing off black smoke left, right, and center. My garage buddies nailed it down to a damaged wiring harness to my boost pressure actuator. Spot on guess, right? No beating round the bush here, it was kinda a significant issue - but remember, nothing's as bad as it seems. The important thing is to catch it early, like you have. It ended up requiring a fixed-up wiring harness and a recalibration of the pressure actuator to sort the problem. The engine dynamics, smoky clouds, and funny noises disappeared post-fix, and the beauty was back to her smooth, purring self, minus the shakes and stalls. It looks alarming at first and feels like a real headache, I totally get it. But don't worry too much, it's a solvable blip. Your Volvo hasn't lost her Swedish spirit yet! Quick heads-up though - make sure your mechanic knows his stuff around Volvo diesels. Saves you the usual runaround. Cheers!
