Seeking Advice on 2004 Hyundai Getz's Blower and Defroster Flap Control Issues

Blower does not work properly

Hey! Got a bit of a pickle with my old girl. Own a 2004 Hyundai Getz, petrol, with just a smidge under 120k km on the clock. Recently, the blower's been acting off. Starting to suspect it's something to do with the defroster flap control. Anyone had something similar? Any ideas what I should look out for when I see a mechanic? Last one left a sour taste in my mouth, don't want to be taken for a ride again. Cheers!

Hi! Funny, had a similar issue with my 2007 Hyundai Accent not long ago. Started with the blower acting up too. It turned out to be the servomotor cable connection - was sitting loose, causing the control flap to play up. Had a mechanic check it out for me, needed to tighten the connection and then all was back to normal. It wasn't something I would've been able to figure out on my own, but it wasn't catastrophic either. Just keep an eye on the defroster flap control and the servomotor. They might need some adjustment. Don't let it get to you. Cars are a bit like us, they get some weird quirks as they age. Stay cool!

Hey there, That's interesting, I wouldn't have guessed the servomotor cable, it's like finding a needle in a haystack with these niggles! Good to know though, I'll keep a keen eye for it next time it kicks up a fuss. If you don't mind me asking, how much did this adjustment set you back? And has anything related to this cropped up since you got it sorted? Cheers!

Hey! Yeah, it certainly wasn't a small task to find the culprit, but it was worth it! Haven't had a repeat of the issue since that adjustment, thankfully. As for the costs, it did lighten my wallet by 200€. But it's a fair price to pay for the peace of mind, I reckon. Persisted with the defroster flap control when I first took it to the mechanic, but since then things have really shaped up well. Had no trouble since we fixed it up! Stay safe and good luck with yours! Cheers!

Hey! Really appreciate the info, sounds like your mechanic was on the ball. Having a clear idea of the potential cause and the rough cost certainly puts my mind at ease. It's worth a couple hundred for peace of mind, alright. I'm going to head back to the mechanic lads, bring up the servomotor cable and defroster flap control. Hopefully, it'll be sorted with no additional issues. If it all turns out alright, I owe you a pint! Stay safe out there. Cheers!
