Seeking Advice on 2001 Hyundai Dynasty's Blower Issues and Speedometer Warning Light

Blower does not work properly

Hey! I've noticed some weird issues with my 2001 Hyundai Dynasty's performance. The blower isn't doing its job and my car isn't cooling/heating like it should. Plus, there's this warning light on the speedometer that's raising my eyebrows. I initially thought it could be an issue with the outdoor temperature sensor. Any of you experienced similar troubles? I'd love to hear how you sorted them out in your workshop. Appreciated if you could offer some solid advice and share your experiences. Thanks!

Hey! I had a similar situation with my 1999 Hyundai Grandeur. I consider myself a budding grease monkey (so, some experience, but not a ton). The trouble was with the Cable or plug connection from the sensor - it was defective. I took it to my local workshop. Cost me about 155 Euro to get it fixed up. If I were you, I'd get the temp sensor checked. If it's as I suspect, your sensor could do with a replacement ASAP to avoid any serious damage. Could you share your vehicle's mileage and whether you've seen any erratic temperature readings? That info would help me provide more specific advice. Cheers!

Hey there, thanks for the useful advice. My Dynasty just hit 114665 KM on the ticker. As for temperature readings, they've been a bit all over the place recently, which definitely sketches me out. I wouldn't say they are erratic but definitely not consistent. Maybe it does point to a sensor issue like you mentioned. Up until now, I was hoping it's not a major thing, but with your insight, I think it's time to consult a professional. Your experience has given me a good starting point. Gonna have the temp sensor checked at a local garage then. Really appreciate it! Cheers.

Hey, glad I could provide some help! Your mileage and temperature readings do seem to be indicating towards a sensor problem. Given that your car's temperature readings are inconsistent, it definitely could be the outdoor temp sensor acting up, just like it did with my Grandeur. Definitely a wise decision to have it checked out professionally. Just a piece of personal advice - if they confirm it's the sensor, go for a good quality replacement. It could be a bit pricier, but trust me, it's worth it in the long run. And do remember to have them check the connection cables and plugs as well, they can sometimes be the hidden culprits. I’ve found that once that was sorted, the heating/cooling issues improved a lot. The warning light in the speedometer was also resolved after the fix. Do keep us posted on how it goes, fingers crossed for you!

Hey, thanks a lot for the heads up! I'll definitely keep an eye out for quality while replacing the sensor, a little extra money now could save me much more worry down the line. Good shout on checking the cables too, I'll make sure to mention that to the mechanic. I genuinely appreciate your guidance here. Having your experiences to draw from makes this whole thing less of a headache. I feel way more equipped to handle this now. Will let you know how it turns out. Cheers!
