Seeking Advice on '22 Kia Stonic Audio and GPS System Issues, Possible Connection with Interior Light Fault

Navigationssystem is not working

Audio system is not working

Hey! Been having a bit of trouble with my '22 Kia Stonic, petrol version. She's clocked around 129398 KM on the odometer. The audio and GPS systems have given out, and I suspect it might be something to do with a busted interior light. I've got burned with mechanics before, so hoping to get some insight before heading in. Anyone here experienced the same problems or got any tips about a decent mechanic? All advice is appreciated! Cheers!

Hey there, I totally connect with your situation, dealt with a similar issue on my '19 Kia Forte not too long ago. The interior light was defective in mine too along with some miscoded GPS issues, turned out they were closely connected. After a lot of hair pulling, found out it was the Body Control Module – it oversees a lot of systems like the one you're having trouble with right now. It's not something you'd want to ignore - the BCM controls quite a bit and you definitely don't want more systems going bonkers. I'd suggest getting a pro to look into it pronto if you're not much into DIY. You'll have to ensure they really know their stuff, might be best to find a specialist or a dealership. Hope this helps your Stonic get back to humming along fine. Cheers!

Hiya! Good grief, sounds like the exact issue I had with my Kia Stonic last year! Body Control Module - no doubt. Spot on advice from our in the previous post. Just adding my two cents here; don't go cheap on this one, the BCM is kind of the brain of many core functions of your ride. Do you by any chance remember how much you shelled out for it? And have you come across any other problems since the fix? Just trying to brace myself if another surprise pops up! All the best!

Heya, Good news on my side. After consulting with the mechanic, it seems like my interior light issue was sorted out. So yeah, those pesky little things can indeed cause a lot of headaches. As for the costs, setting right the interior light set me back by 85.00 €. But I reckon that's a small price to pay for peace of mind considering the chaos that a faulty light was creating. Knock on wood, but everything's been smooth sailing since the fix. Of course, you may want to factor in that every car's got its quirks and surprises. But hey, that's part of the thrill of being a car owner, right? Just remember to not skimp out on good mechanics. It's worth every penny in the long run! All the best to you and your KIA Stonic! Cheers!

Hey everyone, Firstly, I must express my appreciation for your insights. Not gonna lie, these issues were starting to keep me up at night! After reading your advice, I took the plunge and headed over to a dealership. They diagnosed it as a faulty BCM, just as you suggested. I've learned two things from this experience: One, never underestimate the interconnectedness of car systems. And two, the significance of having a reliable mechanic. Who'd have thought an interior light, of all things, could wreak such havoc? Cost-wise, fellas, my wallet's a little lighter - roughly 300€ for replacing the BCM and 40€ for sorting out the interior light. Just hoping this problem is the last for a good while! Your support and advice were invaluable during the process. Wishing you all safe travels and may your drives be free from mechanical gremlins! Cheers!
