Hey, thanks for the input. You nailed it, I'm beginning to suspect the same, the boost pressure actuator. No mods here, just a straight up old school '09 LX Diesel with a lot of miles under her belt - we're talking a whopping 178,022 KM! Funnily enough, I did take her out on some rough terrains a week ago. Didn't think that could impact. I'll be sure to bring this up during my visit to the workshop. Recent service was roughly a couple of months back and since then things were smooth until this problem. Thanks again for the advice. Really appreciate it. Will keep you guys posted on the outcome.
Well, you're welcome. I genuinely hope your car doesn't require as serious a repair as a wiring harness replacement. But even if it does, those symptoms you've mentioned, they can't be ignored, especially with the vast amount of kilometers on the odometer. Your recent off-roading might have indeed contributed, even something like excess dust or dirt can cause havoc in the engine. And your LX Diesel isn't really the off-road type despite it being a capable SUV - that's probably why. When you take her into the workshop, make sure they perform a thorough check of the turbo pressure system and OBD readings. With your mileage and recent adventure, there could easily be more than one issue contributing to the symptoms. Remember, the key is open communication with your mechanic - more details you can provide, better the diagnosis. They can only act on what they know or find - rough terrains, check engine light, high mileage, all these bits of information can make a world of difference. Anyhow, my fingers are crossed for you - I hope to hear positive news soon! Drive safe and take care of your ride.
Hey, you're a lifesaver for giving such detailed advice. Didn't even consider the effects of the rough terrain could wear on the ole girl. You're spot on, the key is being open with the mechanic, I'll get every nook and cranny inspected. I know she's got a lot of miles under her belt, so no surprises there may be more issues hidden. Despite the expected high repair bill, I can't wait to get her back on the roads, purring like she used to. I'll let you know how it turns out. Cheers and safe driving to you too!
Hey there, had something similar with my '11 Lexus RX Hybrid. I'm not a car expert, just a regular guy with some experience poking around cars. Turns out, it was a damaged wiring harness to the boost pressure actuator on my ride. Noticed similar symptoms to what you're describing. A trip to my trusted local mechanic confirmed it after a few diagnostic tests. Ended up paying around 155€ to get that sorted - a small price to pay for smooth sailing afterwards, mind you. Can't say it'll be the same issue on your LX Diesel, but might be something to look into. By the way, you got any mods on your car? Sometimes, that could play a part in these issues. Also, any recent bad weather or rough terrains traveled? These details could help pinpoint the problem further. You may want to talk this out with your workshop, they should be able to provide you with a more accurate diagnosis based on my experience. Hope this helps!
