Hey there, Thanks for your quick response and sharing your experience. Very helpful! My Mazda 3 is indeed pretty similar to your ride. Funny how these vehicles are like family sometimes. To give you a clearer picture, apart from the constant ABS light, my speedometer is doing this weird thing where it goes from 0 to 120 and then back to 0 while I'm driving. It's happened a few times in the last week or two. Just imagine the needle doing a sprint! Wish I could make a video to show you but safety first, right? As for the stored fault, I think it's throwing a C1235 code. I looked it up and that seems to point towards a fault in my right rear wheel speed sensor?? Seems like the ABS control unit replacement could be a possibility for me too, going off your experience. By the way, I should probably mention that my Mazda is at 146013 KM. She had her latest service just a couple of months ago. Still runs like a dream otherwise. Just this ABS thing making me nuts. Once again, appreciate your input. I've got half a mind to follow your footsteps and get that control unit looked into. Cheers!
Hey there, Whoa, the speedometer doing a mad dash, huh? Now that's quite a sight I bet! You're spot on about safety first though —good call on that. Yep, I remember well the ABS light that refused to go away on my Mazda 6. That's certainly an ABS sensor issue, but it could indeed also be the control unit. Hard to say without having a closer look. As for that C1235 fault code you mentioned, you're right again. It does point to a potential fault in the right rear wheel speed sensor which might be throwing your ABS/DSC system off. Could be a simple wiring issue, or even the sensor itself failing. Sometimes, dirt or debris stuck in there can mess things up too; seen that happen before. Let me tell you though, my Mazda was at around 160,000 KM when I had to change the ABS control unit, which is not that far away from where you're at right now. But don't take my word as gospel. It'd be best to get a professional's opinion. The fault data stored can often be interpreted differently and it's always better to be safe than sorry, as they say. Thanks for sharing more data, all our experiences can help others out there. Let me know how it turns out for your old girl. Good luck with sorting out that ABS/DSC system issue! As I said before, annoying for sure, but there's always a roundabout when we hit a roadblock, isn't it? Cheers and Godspeed!
Hey! I can't thank you enough for taking the time to help me out here. Your advice sounds pretty spot on from where I'm sitting. An ABS sensor issue, faulty wiring or debris… All of it's starting to make a lot of sense now. Your mileage point hits home too. Maybe it's just one of those things that happens while clocking in the KMs. I'm going to follow up with my local garage this weekend. No time like the present, eh? Will surely keep you updated with how things turn out. Just knowing there's someone out there who's been through the same thing is a load off my mind! It's indeed always about finding that roundabout when we hit a roadblock. I think I see my roundabout coming up! Appreciate everything. Fingers crossed and hoping my old girl gets back to her prime soon. She's earned it, hasn't she? Thanks again and be well! Cheers!
Hey! I have a '04 Mazda 6 Diesel, pretty much a sibling to your '06 Mazda 3, isn't it? Just to be upfront, I'm not much of a car wizard, just got a little experience here and there. Not too long ago, I had a similar mess with my ABS control unit too. My workshop guys were real pros; communicated everything and gave me a clear plan. Ended up needing to replace the ABS control unit, and I had to drop around a grand (that's 1000€) on it. Hurt the wallet a bit but was worth not having to worry about those warning lights every time I hit the road. Anyway, I'd love to help you out more, can you drop some more info on the specific symptoms your ride's showing? Maybe share the data of the stored fault? That would help a lot in giving a closer look. Cheers and good luck with that ABS issue!
