Seeking Advice for Troubleshooting Issues with 2023 Seat Tarraco Hybrid's Fuel Filler Flap Position Sensor

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Fault stored

Check engine light on

Hey folks, I've got a bit of a conundrum with my 2023 Seat Tarraco Hybrid, sitting at around 63,756 km. Recently, some funky stuff's been popping up: the check engine light, a warning in the speedo, and a stored fault. I'm thinking it's tied to a wonky fuel filler flap position sensor. Had a nightmare of a time with my last mechanic, so a second opinion would do wonders. Anyone else had this happen? How'd your repair experience go? Cheers!

Hey, I reckon I can help you a bit. I got a 2020 Seat Tarraco Gas variant and boy, let me tell you, same problem happened to me about 10,000 km ago. My check engine light started flashing and there was a warning on my dash. This bugger has caused me to scratch my head, I tell ya! My local garage ran some diagnostics and found that we were dealing with a defective fuel filler flap wiring harness. I'm not gonna lie, it wasn't just a simple fix, it took a decent amount of time because the whole part needed to be replaced. A little inconvenience I'd say, but nothing terrifying or damaging for the rest of the car - just annoying enough to be honest. If your problem is the same as mine, I'd advise to get it checked asap cause it might grow into a bigger concern over time. But apart from that, had no other issues since. Hope this helps! Stay safe, cheers!

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience, really appreciate it! Sounds like quite the ordeal but I'm relieved it wasn't catastrophic or something. Just out of curiosity, do you recall how much that set you back? Also, since your repair, have any other related issues popped up? Cheers!

Hey there, no worries at all, always happy to lend a helping hand! I had to part with 155€ for sorting out that Defective fuel filler flap wiring harness issue. A bit of a sting to the wallet, but hey, that's car ownership, isn't it? As for your other question, I am happy to report that since my trusty mechanic sorted it out, the Fuel filler flap position sensor has been behaving impeccably. So it appears that sorting out the faulty wiring did the trick, with no related gremlins crawling out of the woodwork since. Hope that eases your mind a bit. Remember, every car has its quirks, but it's all part of the journey! Safe driving!

Thanks for the insight. I must say, you've put my mind at ease somewhat. Spending 155€ isn't ideal, but surely better than some bigger, nasty surprises down the track! It's good to hear your Tarraco's been runnin' smooth since then - gives me a solid bit of hope for mine. Your round of advice has been top notch! Cheers for your input, drive safe too!
