Hey, glad I could help! You seem to be doing a good job of keeping her maintained especially taking into account the mileage she's clocked. In light of all the symptoms you've shared, I'm pretty sure the injector could be the culprit. But remember, diagnosing car problems can sometimes be like peeling an onion, layer by layer. One issue might just uncover another. So be prepared for that. Also, keep an eye out for stuff like air filters and spark plugs because they might also contribute if they've worn out. Again, this is just my experience talking. I'd still recommend you to get her checked by a professional mechanic, they could identify if it's solely the injectors or combined with something else. Cars of this mileage usually need a bit more TLC. Most importantly, don't get too worked up. Yeah, she's acting up and that's frustrating. But problems like these are pretty typical in older vehicles and usually solvable. Keep us informed about what happens next. Best of luck with fixing your Fiat Palio, hope she's back to her best soon!
Thanks a ton for the solid advice, really helps a first-timer like me. I'm gonna get my Palio to the workshop pronto and have them check the injectors along with the air filters and spark plugs as you advised. Hoping it's not too serious and this solves the problems. I'll definitely update you guys as soon as I get any news. Time to give her the TLC she needs. Cheers!
Hey there. I fancy myself as a car enthusiast with some experience up my sleeve. A couple of years back, I had a similar issue with my 2011 Fiat Punto, another model from the same brand. It was giving me the same fits and starts, burning up more fuel than a rocket to the moon, and smelled worse than my team after a Sunday league match! After a few bouts with my local mechanic, who I might add is top notch, we finally figured out it was the ruddy injector playing up. Hence, it was a defective injector causing all the trouble. Had to cough up about €515 to get that sorted out, but it did the job. Power, consumption, and smell, all went back to normal post that. Your symptoms seem pretty much the same to my old Punto. I'd recommend getting your injectors checked at a trusted workshop. Remember, better to be safe than sorry! Can you tell me a bit more about your vehicle? The year, make, model, engine, anything recent repairs or modifications? That should help me give you a bit more tailored advice.
