Seeking Advice for Troubleshooting 2019 Lexus GX Blower Issue: Possible Rear Ventilation Flap Problem

Blower does not work properly

Hey! I'm running into an odd issue with my 2019 Lexus GX with a Gasoline engine. The blower just isn't doing its thing properly. I've been thinking the rear ventilation flap could be acting up, but I'm not 100% certain. Has anyone else experienced this problem and managed to fix it at their local workshop? I'm really curious about your experiences and any tips you've got to help me troubleshoot this. Thanks in advance!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2017 Lexus RX, also a gas engine. The issue was indeed with the ventilation flap, specifically with the cable needing a servomotor. I reckon I have "some experience" with cars, well more of a novice. Took it into my local workshop and they didn't beat around the bush, just got straight to work. A 170 euro hit later and she was purring like a kitten again. Was one of those maintenance things I guess, these machines aren't perfect after all! Now, could you provide some more info about your vehicle? The more precise the details, the better I can assist you based on my experience. Cheers!

Hey there! Thanks for sharing your experience, really appreciate it. To give you more details, my GX was last serviced at 19973 KM. So far it has been a smooth ride and this ventilation problem has been the first major issue I've come across - quite a surprise to me! Let's hope for the best and see if the local guys can figure things out. Your input definitely helps, so cheers for that!

Hey! It's great to see a proactive approach! I had my RX serviced roughly at a similar mileage when I started to experience the blower issue, which is kind of intriguing. About your GX, given your mileage and the symptoms, it does seem like the ventilation flap could be the issue. At least that's my educated guess based on my experience with the RX. But don't take it as gospel, I'm no certified mechanic after all! Best thing to do is get it checked by your local workshop. In my case, the fix wasn't terribly expensive and doesn't seem to be a recurring issue once sorted. So hopefully it's the same with yours! If you have any more questions or details, I'm happy to lend my experiences. Take care and good luck sorting it out!

Hey, thanks for your thoughts! It's reassuring to hear that you had a similar issue. Guess it's a common thing after a certain mileage. Yeah, I won't take your word as gospel but it's a good starting point and gives me an idea of what to expect. So, cheers for that! I'm gonna take the beast into the workshop first thing tomorrow. They've always been reliable, and hopefully, they won't demand an arm and a leg for fixing it. Anyway, that's tomorrow's worry. Thanks again for your help and for putting my mind at ease somewhat. Stay awesome and keep enjoying the rides!
