Seeking Advice for Sketchy Wipers in 2021 Renault Arkana Hybrid
Wipers don't work properly

Hey there! That's interesting what you're saying about the gel pad on the windshield. I honestly wouldn't have even thought about that. Makes sense though, because wipers and sensor readings are both acting up in my Arkana. Just to get an idea, do you mind me asking how much that set you back? Did you have to pay any extra for any unexpected issues that cropped up during or after the fix? Hope everything's been running smoothly since then! Thanks in advance for your help. Stay safe!
Hey again, No worries, happy to help a fellow Renault owner out! So, in my case, it ended up costing me 62.50 € to get those pesky bubbles under the gel pad sorted. That included the cost of the new adhesive, labour and everything. Pretty reasonable considering the bother it saved me in the long run. I didn't have any hidden or unexpected charges, thankfully. Since the mechanic had a look-see, that Rain-light sensor issue cleared up on my Clio as well, so I reckon they're definitely connected. So, you might find that once you've addressed one, the other sorts itself out. I must say, no further problems since then, everything's been tip-top! Knock on wood! Hope this gives you a rough idea of what to expect. Best of luck with your Arkana, and drive safe!
Hey, That's quite on the budget than I thought - only 62.50 €- quite a relief! Your experience is actually making me feel a lot more confident. I'm going to take my Arkana into the garage tomorrow and see if it’s the same issue. Great to hear no further problems have arisen with your Clio since then. Fingers crossed the same goes for me! Thanks again for your advice and the well wishes. Really appreciate it. Stay safe on the roads!
Hey there, Funny you should bring this up because I had something very close happen to my 2018 Renault Clio a while back. Turned out, it wasn't my rain-light sensor acting up like I initially thought, but actually bubbles forming under the gel pad on the windshield. Messed up my wiper performance as well as the sensor readings. Had to take it down to the garage where they took a good look and figured it out. Apparently, the adhesive for the gel pad had begun to degrade causing it to bubble up and not stick properly to the windshield. It was a bit of a process, took some time to fix but when it was sorted, everything was running smooth again. So, I would suggest having your mechanic check not only the sensor but also the adhering of the gel pad to the windshield. Sort it out earlier to avoid bigger headaches. Good luck with it!
