Seeking Advice for Seat Tarraco's Blower and Temperature Control Issues

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Blower does not work properly

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey folks, I'm a bit stuck with my 2018 Seat Tarraco, diesel, clocked in at 158072 KM. Lately, the blower's been wonky and the temperature control isn't up to scratch, plus some pesky warning light on the speedometer keeps popping up. My guess, could be a faulty Solar sensor (had a really lousy time with the local mechanic last round). Has anyone else faced these problems? How'd it go with your mechanic? Any advice or experiences would be a mega help! Cheers!

Hey, I've had a similar issue with my 2015 Seat Leon a while back. I had some pesky warning lights that wouldn't disappear on the dashboard. Turned out that the wiring harness was defective. The symptoms were a bit different but not too far off – I had trouble with the lighting and some controls were a bit off. It ended up being a semi-serious issue because this harness is the lifeline for electric power in the vehicle. Cool thing was, as tricky as the problem sounded, the garage guys managed it pretty well. They had to replace the entire wiring harness to rectify the problem. It was a bit of a hard pill to swallow, but once the problem was fixed my baby ran like a charm. I guess your symptoms could point towards the same direction, especially the problems with your blower and temp control. My advice, get it checked by a competent mechanic as soon as possible. Just ensure they know their way around a Seat. Better safe than sorry, you know. Cheers!

Hey there! Thanks a ton for the heads up! Your experience does sound quite a bit like what I'm going through with my Tarraco. Bit relieved to hear that once sorted out, your Leon was back on track. The wiring harness issue sounds a bit of a doozy, though. Was curious how much getting the entire thing replaced cost you? Also, since you got it sorted, have you had any more trouble with the car? Any more unexpected surprises cropping up? Just trying to brace myself for what might come next, y'know. Appreciate the help! Cheers!

Hey, no problem at all, happy to help! Totally get where you’re coming from; this car stuff can be a real headache. To answer your question on cost – replacing the entire wiring harness did pack a punch, it cost me around 155€. Not exactly a walk in the park, but trust me, once it was done, there was a world of change. The lights were responsive, and the controls just felt right. As for any surprises post-fix, well, there was a little problem. Remember I mentioned the solar sensor? Turns out that was faulty as well. I know, just my luck, right? Thankfully, I didn't have any lousy experiences with the mechanics this time and got the job done. So you’d better keep an eye out for that as well. I know it sounds like a lot, but don't worry. Once it’s all sorted, I bet your Tarraco will be purring like a kitten again. The rough patches are there, but it's all worth it in the end! Keep me posted on how it goes. Cheers!

Wow, this is exactly the kind of info dump I needed! That €155 does sting a bit, but if it sorts everything out, I guess it's a fair trade. And, don’t get me started on the solar sensor situation. Was hoping I could ignore that for a bit longer, but I see now that's wishful thinking. Gotta remember, cars operate on mechanics, not magic. Your experience gives me a sort of roadmap for my situation, so seriously, thanks a million for all the help! It's a bit daunting but I guess at the end of the day getting it all fixed and having a smooth ride is what matters. Will let you know how things evolve! Really appreciate the time and thought you put into your response. Cheers!
