Seeking Advice for Lexus CT200h Blower Issues Possibly Linked to Defroster Flap Control
Blower does not work properly

Hey, really appreciate your tip. Now that you've mentioned it, my CT200h's issue sounds pretty similar to what you faced with your IS350. Just out of curiosity, do you remember roughly how much the diagnosis and fix ended up costing you? Also, has anything else cropped up with your defroster flap control (or blower) since then, or has it been smooth sailing? Thanks again!
Hey there! Yeah, no worries - happy to help a fellow Lexus owner. Regarding the costs, once we found out the servomotor cable connection was the troublemaker, it set me back around 200€ to get it sorted. That was pretty much it. As for whether anything else has come up since seeing the mechanic, it's nothing but clear skies. The defroster flap control thing was fixed properly and hasn't acted up since. So yeah, I'd say my blower's doing just fine now. Best of luck with getting your issue sorted out!
Thanks a bunch for being so helpful. I'm a bit relieved knowing that your mechanic was able to sort a similar issue. Seems like it’s time to pay a visit to my local garage, armed with this new knowledge about the servomotor cable. Fingers crossed, my CT200h also has smooth sailing post-repair like your IS350. Cheers for your insights and the costs head-ups! Now, let’s bosch on with the repairs!
Hey there, had a similar problem with my 2014 Lexus IS350 not too long ago. The problem was indeed tied to the defroster flap control, specifically a servomotor cable connection issue. Mechanic had to spend some time diagnosing it first. Turned out the cable connection was defective, which caused a problem with controlling the defroster flap and in turn messed up the blower. The fix was relatively straightforward - he had to replace the faulty servomotor cable and re-establish the secure connection. It wasn't a massive deal once pinpointed, but did take a bit to diagnose properly. Correct identification of the underlying issue played a big role. So, check the servomotor cable. It's less common, but you never know right, cars can throw a curveball at you. Good luck!
