Seeking Advice for Issues with 2022 Lexus RC Hybrid: Difficulty Starting, Malfunctioning Lights, and Weak Battery

Weak battery when starting the engine

Engine hard to start

Dim or flickering lights

Hey gearheads, I've got a puzzling issue with my 2022 Lexus RC Hybrid. She's been acting up lately - tough to start up, lights acting wonky, and even a weak battery on ignition. I've got a hunch it might be something with the engine control but not quite sure. Any of you had similar troubles? What did the repair shop do to get your ride back on track? Any tips and tricks would massively help.

Hey there, Yep, went through a similar bug with my 2020 Lexus IS 300 a while back. I don't exactly know tons about cars, but I've tinkered with a fair bit. Took it down to my local dude's shop. Turns out, low battery voltage was the culprit. Cost me about €290 to set things straight. But hang on—are we talking the same tech specs here? Can you list out your car's specific details for a more accurate diagnosis? Cheers!

Yo, thanks for the quick insight! My RC Hybrid is a 2022 model and she's already traveled a good 99700 km. Not a whole lot of issues until now. Had the latest servicing a few months back. Could it be the battery even if the last service was pretty recent? It's got me questioning the quality of the service now. Cheers!

Hey! Don't get too worked up just yet! Cars can be a bit tricky sometimes. With your Lexus, I honestly wouldn't jump straight to blaming the service quality. Even good batteries can have a bad day, and sometimes perfectly maintained vehicles still have their surprises, right? In my case too, my Lexus was serviced not too long before I started having issues. The battery issue was totally separate from that. It’s a bit annoying, but hey, that's how it rolls sometimes. Considering what you’ve told me about the symptoms - hard start, weak battery, dim lights - leads me in the direction of the battery or even the alternator. If it is the battery, the weird behavior of your car could be because your battery is unable to hold a charge sufficiently. If that's the case, a simple battery change could resolve the issue. It's even possible to DIY if you're comfortable with it. Alternators can be a bit trickier and might require some professional help to figure out. But hey, I'm no expert. All I can advise is, take her to a trusted mechanic and get a proper diagnosis. And keep me posted on how it turns out! Cheers and best of luck!

Absolutely! You're right on, cars can run us in circles any day. Battery or alternator, huh? I'll take a look and check if a new battery can fix these issues. If it's the alternator though, I'm gonna have to tow it to the repair shop. I'm handy but not nearly enough to fiddle with the alternator. Thanks a ton for your help! I'll keep you posted on how it goes. Until then, safe driving and cheers!
