Hey, really appreciate your prompt response and sharing your own experience. It's interesting that your issue was with the Accelerator Pedal Module. I just had normal maintenance service done at 32603 KM, no parts replacement or anything. There's no specific error codes popping up on the dashboard, it's just the check engine light that stays lit. I've noticed the car sounds a bit louder than usual, especially when I push the accelerator. And that jerky movement I was talking about, it’s more like it hesitates before kicking in with the power. I completely agree with your tip, going to the pros is the safer bet. I'm just trying to get as much help as I can online before I take it in. Again, thanks a ton for your suggestion!
No problem, happy to help! Based on your latest description, it does sound a bit like an issue with the fuel system. The throttle valve could indeed be a potential suspect – it's responsible for controlling the engine's air intake and any malfunction could very well explain the drop in power, jerkiness during acceleration and increased fuel consumption. But I wouldn't dismiss the accelerator pedal module either. The hesitation before power kicks in could indicate a communication issue between the pedal and the throttle valve. However, a loud engine usually occurs due to an exhaust issue, so that might be a separate thing to look into as well. Without specific error codes or a more detailed diagnosis, it's hard to say for certain what the issue is. But hearing your symptoms, it reminds me a lot of what I went through. Feel free to keep me posting about the diagnosis your mechanic gives you when you take your car in. It'd be helpful for all of us in case anyone else encounters the same problem. Best of luck!
Thanks a truckload for all the info and your awesome help! It looks like I have a bit of digging to do, especially if it could also be related to the fuel system or exhaust issue, aside from my initial throttle valve suspect. I'm gonna get my baby warranted and take it into the shop as early as possible cause uncertainty isn't my favorite game, you know what I mean? Once it's all sorted, will definitely give everyone an update with the verdict. Who knows? My experience might help another anxious car owner. Again, so thankful for your guidance. You're a star!
Hey! I’ve had a similar experience with my 2015 Hyundai i20. I'm certainly not an automobile expert, far from it actually, but I’ve dealt with car issues before. Turned out my Accelerator Pedal Module was defective. I took it to my local workshop where the mechanic diagnosed and fixed the issue. He replaced the module and the total cost came to €205. It turned out to be a tricky problem but got it sorted eventually. Just to get a better understanding, could you let me know if you've had any specific error codes show up? Have any parts been replaced recently? Also, any changes in the way, it runs or sounds apart from what you've mentioned? The more details I get, the easier it'd be for me to guide you. Tip: Always trust the pro's for such things rather than temporary DIY fixes.
