Hey there, Wow, your experience sounds identical to what I'm dealing with right now. It's frustrating, but it's good to hear I'm not alone, and you managed to get it sorted out with your Sportage. Appreciate you sharing the details about the Motor Control Main Relay. That would honestly explain a lot of the issues I've been experiencing. Just a couple more things I wanted to pick your brain about, if you don't mind. I'm curious about how much the whole repair ended up costing you, considering how extensive the work sounds. Also, since the repair, have you come across any other issues or did everything pretty much resolve itself? Thanks a bunch!
Hey back at you, Ah, the dreaded question of costs, right? Well, strap in, because the whole process of replacing the Motor Control Main Relay came down to 130.00 €. A little steep, but considering it fixed the issues, I'd say it's a fair price. And now, onto the good news. Since the mechanic got his hands on my Sportage, I haven't run into any other major issues, especially regarding the terminal 15 interruption you mentioned. That thing seems to have been sorted out perfectly. The electric faults and dimming lights business - all of that settled down as well. I'm glad I invested in fixing it because my ride's been running much smoother ever since. Hope your XCeed follows the same route! Cheers to trouble-free drives from here on out!
Hey! Firstly, thank you for sharing the cost details so candidly, it definitely helps me set my expectations right. While 130.00 € might be a bit of a pinch, I'm more than ready to shell that out if it resiliently fixes these issues. Your experience post the repair certainly adds to the optimism. Really appreciate you imparting your knowledge and experiences. I think I have a much clearer idea of what to expect and ask for when I visit the mechanic next. I'm hopeful that my beloved Kia XCeed will soon be back to its prime days, thanks to that relay switch replacement. Once again, cheers for the helpful advice! A toast to our fuss-free Kia journeys ahead.
Hey I totally understand what you're going through. Something similar happened to my 2016 Kia Sportage not too long back. Had a couple of electrical issues and dull flickering of lights. Even the engine seemed to struggle a bit when starting. After some head-scratching, the mechanic found out that the Motor Control Main Relay was actually defective. It's a crucial component that controls the power supply to the electrical modules inside the car. The initial signs of a malfunctioning relay can be exactly what you described: dimmed lights, weak battery startup and those unpredictable electronic glitches. In my case, the relay needed a complete replacement to nip the problem in the bud. I won't sugar-coat it, the job is a bit complex as they need to take apart a chunk to get to this little bugger, but any competent mechanic should be able to handle it. After the fix, I have had no similar issues. Hope you manage to get your XCeed back on track. Wishing you smooth drives ahead!
