Thanks for sharing your experience, really appreciate it. My Qashqai's clocked 164,937 kms, serviced her last about a year back. Sounds like I might be dealing with a similar issue here. Will take it in for a check soon, fingers crossed it's not too hard on the wallet! Cheers.

No problem, happy to help! With that mileage and last servicing being a year back, sounds like your Nissan might need a thorough check-up. As I mentioned before, it worked out to be the converter for me, but I'd recommend getting it tested professionally. They can run a diagnostic to rule out any other potential issues that could be causing the erratic shifting and weird noises. The cost isn't exactly pocket change, but it's worth it for the peace of mind and knowing your ride is running smoothly. Do keep us posted on what the mechanic says. Drive safe and best of luck with your Qashqai. Cheers!

Hey there, I've got some experience with this - I own a 2016 Nissan X-Trail, so pretty close. I'm not a mechanic, but I've learned a thing or two with this car. Had something similar just a few months back - tons of weird noises, shifting felt like a rollercoaster. Took it into the workshop and turns out, my intuition was spot on! Automatic transmission converter was indeed defective, wasn't cheap though, cost me around 2120 Euro to get her running smoothly again. It's hard to say without more details about your Qashqai though, like the mileage and recent service history. Could give a better suggestion with some more info. Hope this helps!
