Seeking Advice for A/C Problems with 2011 Dacia Logan - Possible Heat Exchanger Temperature Sensor Issue

A/C System Not Engaging

Air conditioning blows warm air

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Hey, having a weird problem with my 2011 Dacia Logan (Gasoline). Been seeing that my A/C isn't as cool as it should be and sometimes it doesn't even kick in at all. Just blows warm air instead. I'm suspecting something could be up with the heat exchanger temperature sensor. Have any of you had this issue before with your Dacia? How did the workshop manage to sort this out? Would really appreciate any advice or experience you could share!

Hey there, sounds like a classic A/C control unit issue. Something similar happened with my 2009 Dacia Sandero (Diesel). I've got some experience with cars but I'm no mechanic. Took it to my local workshop. They diagnosed the air conditioning control unit as defective. Cost me about 980 Euro to set it right. Make sure to get your vehicle info (like mileage, last service etc.) handy when you take it in for diagnosis. It helps them identify the issue faster, and they can give a more accurate estimate. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Hey, cheers for the heads up on the A/C control unit possibility. My Logan's got about 37k kms on her. Did a complete service not too long ago. So, reckon the mileage and recent service ought to help the workshop eh? Bit of a bummer if it's gonna cost close to a grand to fix though. Got no choice but to get it sorted, can't be driving around with a dodgy A/C, right? Thanks again for your input, really appreciate it!

Absolutely! It's no fun driving around with a wonky A/C, especially in the summer. Your recent service should indeed aid in the diagnostic process. However, the cost I mentioned was in my case, for my Sandero. The Logan might be a bit different, considering the model and layout variations. But you're looking at somewhere in that neighborhood. Just want to recommend you to check the coolant level too. Sometimes, an insufficient level can lead to inefficient cooling. Certainly, check for possible leaks as well since it's a common issue. Hope you get it sorted without burning a hole in your pocket. Safe driving!

Ah, gotcha. The cost varies depending on the model, makes sense. And good shout on the coolant level and possible leaks. I'll be sure to pass that info to the workshop folks. At this point, any advice is gold. Will get my Logan checked ASAP and hope for the best. Thanks for all the helpful insight. Drive safe too!
