Seeking Advice for 2020 Kia Ceed Gas Engine Blower Issues

Blower does not work properly

Hey all, I'm a bit stuck with a problem on my 2020 Kia Ceed with a gas engine. I've noticed that the blower isn't functioning as it should. I think the issue might be tied to a defect with the fresh air blower, but I'm not 100% certain. Any of you guys experienced a similar issue and managed to get this sorted out in a workshop? I'd be super grateful for any tips or advice you guys have on narrowing down the problem and getting it resolved. Thanks in advance!

Hey there! This brings back some memories as I've been through a similar issue on my 2018 Kia Optima. By no means am I a car expert, but I've picked up some knowledge here and there so I might have some useful info. I took mine to a local workshop. After a little troubleshooting and diagnosis, the issue turned out to be a defective blower motor, and I had to cough up 365 Euro to fix it. However, every car's different, and the cause might be something else for your Ceed. It could also depend on other factors like the climate control settings, or even the condition of HVAC filters. Out of curiosity, is there any specific condition when the problem occurs or is it a constant issue? Also, any other recent issues that sprouted up around the same time? It would be easier for me to help if I know more specifics about your vehicle. Don't worry, we'll figure it out together!

Hey, thanks so much for your swift response! Actually, the problem with the blower seems to happen unusually, but it's more frequent when the car's been running for a while. And there's no other issues that I've noticed. By the way, my Ceed's odometer shows 187295 KM, and the last service was just around 5K KM ago. They didn't find anything out of the ordinary at the service center at that time. Guess I'll take your advice to a local workshop to check the blower motor. Really appreciate the help let's see!

Hey there, no worries at all! That's what we're all here for. Your mileage is decently high, and the blower motor could definitely start acting a bit weird around that point. Along with the blower motor, it might be worth getting the HVAC resistor checked out too, as that can also cause intermittent problems like the one you described. Remember, even if the problem is with the blower motor, it's not always super necessary to replace it. Sometimes it could get clogged with debris or just need a little lubrication. A good mechanic should be able to guide you accordingly. But if it does have to be replaced, well, then you've got some first-hand knowledge of what it might cost you. 😊 Good luck and keep us posted! We're all rooting for ya!

Hey, the HVAC resistor, huh? That's new to me and makes sense considering the intermittent nature of the problem. It really seems like you've been in my shoes before. Also, really appreciate the heads up about possible debris clogging or need of lubrication. I'm glad I hit this forum up before deciding to replace it right away. Honestly, just knowing you all are here supporting and sharing valuable info is comforting in itself! I'll take it to the workshop soon and keep you guys updated. Thanks for making this problem easier to tackle, bud!
