Headlamp leveller malfunction

Hey fellow car enthusiasts, I've got a bit of a head-scratcher here with my 2019 Mazda CX5 Diesel. Recently, I've been having malfunctions with the headlamp leveller and warning lights in the speedometer. Could this be due to some issues with the headlight range control? If anyone has had similar experiences or knows some good troubleshooting tips, I'd love to hear about it. How did you guys get it fixed? Any advice or shared experiences would be super helpful!

Hey there! I had a very similar issue with my 2017 Mazda CX3, just another model from the same brand. I'm no car guru but do have some experience with these things. Took mine to the local workshop and found the culprit was a defective servomotor in the headlight which totally messed up the headlight range control. Cost me a good 1040€ to fix that bugger. Just for a detailed insight, could you tell me more about the state of your headlights and the kind of malfunctions you've been having?

Hey, thanks for the tip! So, my headlights seem to be in an okay condition. However, I have noticed they're not switching from high to low beam smoothly when required. Also, I occasionally see an error message about the leveller system, which is quite bothersome during night drives. By the way, I've clocked 246530 KM on this beauty until now, haven't had many issues before this. I guess I'll have to bring it to the workshop to get that servomotor checked.

Hey, no worries! Sounds like you've enjoyed quite a journey with your beast so far, those kilometres are impressive. It does kinda sound like what I dealt with. With your headlights not smoothly transitioning from high to low beam, it infers that there might be a problem in the range control, potentially connected to a servomotor issue there. Definitely get it checked out at your local workshop, it'll be a bummer if you get stuck somewhere at night with sub-par headlights. Remember, safety first! Let me know how it goes, I hope it doesn't burn a hole in your wallet like mine did. Best of luck!

Absolutely! I've loved every KM of the ride. But, I guess it's time to show it some care now. I'll definitely prioritize safety and drop it at the workshop this weekend. Will keep you posted on how it pans out. Fingers crossed for no wallet-burning! Cheers for the advice, really appreciate it!
