Hey there! Thanks for your reply, really appreciate your input. Sounds like our situations are pretty similar. I'm happy to hear it's not a major issue, but still something that needs attention. Can you recall, more or less, how much you had to fork out for the gel pad replacement? And has anything else weird popped up since? Just trying to keep a step ahead of any other potential surprises, you know? Thanks again and cheers!
Hey, no problem at all, glad I could help out! So for the gel pad issue, there were these annoying bubbles under it on my windshield, right? Took the car in and the mechanic took care of that for me. That ran me about 62.50 €, not too bad honestly. And since that visit, I noticed my wipers acting much better, let's just say the rain-light sensor misbehaving was a thing of the past. Haven't noticed anything else weird cropping up afterward, fingers crossed it stays that way. Hopefully, your ride gives you smooth sailing from here on out as well. Good luck with it!
Hey, thanks for the quick response! I'm relieved to hear that it wasn't too expensive and also that it solved your wiper problem. Looks like I'll be paying a visit to the mechanic soon then, got to keep my ride in top shape after all. I suppose that's all part of the joys of car ownership, right? Thanks again for the help, you've really eased my mind. Best of luck with your Optima, let's hope our cars keep running smoothly! Cheers!
Hey there, I totally get what you're going through. I had a pretty similar issue with my 2016 Kia Optima a while back. It wasn't the rain-light sensor, but more so the gel pad beneath it. There were bubbles forming under it on my windshield. Honestly, it was a bit of hassle. The trip to the garage was straightforward enough. They diagnosed the problem for me and I was told that the gel pad needed replacements. As per what they told me, it's a fairly common issue but not a critical one. So no need to fret too much. Just remember to get it sorted relatively soon to prevent any further problems. Just thought I'd share my experience, hope it helps. Cheers!
