Heyo, thanks for the response and the perspective! Interesting thought on the defective cable - I hadn't really considered that. Oh, and now that you mention it, before this all started, I did have a funny incident with the remote key losing connection. That might be part of the puzzle too, huh? As for the specifics on my 3008, she's sitting at 58974 KM, last checked up during a full service a few months back, and has been running smooth ever since. No major bumps or accidents, pretty much kept her in top notch condition - well, until this problem appeared. I'd love to hear if your experience still stacks up against this or if I should start looking elsewhere. Cheers!
Hey! Can't help but nod along with your 'puzzle' metaphor - that's exactly what these car issues are like sometimes. About that remote key incident – now that's a detail that could be telling. From my own experience with my Peugeot, the tailgate and the key fob work hand-in-hand. If you had troubles with the key, it possibly could mess with the tailgate too. Considering the age and mileage of your 3008, I'd still wager that we might be dealing with a similar situation to what I had. Even though our models are slightly different, they share many of the same mechanics. Your ride is fairly new with reasonable mileage, so a major mechanical failure seems a bit premature. Here's what I'd suggest: get your car back to the workshop and ask them to specifically check the cables related to the tailgate and the key fob. Hopefully it's as straightforward as a cable change, and not a full-blown Hall sensor mishap. Other than that, it's all about eliminating possibilities one by one! Don't hesitate to keep us updated here. Good luck!
I appreciate your detailed reply. You've shed some new light on this tailgate mystery of mine. I must admit I didn't put two and two together about the key fob and tailgate connection. I'm definitely going to follow your suggestion and get these cables checked on my next workshop visit. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's a minor issue like a cable change. I'll be sure to loop back here and update once I've got some news. Cheers, really appreciate your time and expertise!
Hey there, I had a very similar issue with my 2015 Peugeot 5008, so I know how frustrating that can be. My level of car expertise could be chucked into the 'some experience' basket, so I'm not an expert but I've tinkered around a bit. Long story short, my local workshop helped me out. Turned out to be a defective cable, not the Hall sensor as I initially thought. They replaced it, only set me back by 95 Euro so not too harsh on the wallet. Thing is, there may be different causes for similar symptoms across models, so it'd be cool to know a bit more about your 3008. Mileage, general condition, anything unusual happening before this issue popped up could help nailing down the issue. Cheers!
