Hey there! Yeah, I've heard a couple of people point me towards something similar, saying my first step should be getting a diagnostic run. Haven't gotten around to it yet, though. As for any recent work done, had the brake pads replaced around the 75000 KM mark, but that's about it. No different fuel either, I’ve been, as my would say, 'loyal to the pump'. My last service was done when the odometer was ticking around 79000 KM. Didn't mention anything out of the ordinary, apart from the usual 'wear and tear'. Your input's given me a bit to think on, cheers for that!
Hello again! Given what you've described, I'm definitely leaning more towards a fault with the DPF system. If the DPF isn't regenerating properly, it can cause the kind of 'symphony of sorrows' you're dealing with. That being said, a dodgy exhaust back pressure sensor could definitely be contributing to the problem. I remember I had a moment with my Laguna when I saw black smoke and all. Turned out the DPF was laden with soot due to a faulty exhaust pressure sensor. DPF couldn't regenerate properly and caused all those symptoms like yours. Even though I loathed giving up my hard-earned cash, getting the diagnostic, clearing the DPF, and replacing that darn exhaust back pressure sensor really did the trick. I'd highly recommend taking it to your workshop ASAP, as dragging things might damage your engine permanently. And no one fancy a car that drinks more and performs less, eh? Keep us posted on how it goes, and remember, you're not alone on this, given I've been down that road already. Good luck!
Hey, your insights are pure gold, seriously. It's comforting to be able to talk to someone who's been through this before. You're right about dragging things, I don't want my poor old Sandero to suffer any more than it has to. The DPF system issue makes perfect sense, given the symptoms. And your experience with your Laguna sounds eerily similar to what I'm dealing with. I'm definitely going to heed your advice and get my car to the workshop for a proper diagnostic check and some TLC. Fingers crossed it comes back to me purring like a kitten (and not drinking like a fish!). Thanks for taking the time to share your experience and advice. I'll be sure to update you, and everyone else who might be interested, on how it goes. Cheers!
Hey, had a similar headache with my 2014 Renault Laguna, sibling model of your Sandero. Just a heads up, I have some experience with cars, though I'm by no means an expert. Typically, for this kinda problem, I'd take it to my trusted workshop. They usually run a diagnostic check, clear the DPF, and often replace the exhaust back pressure sensor if needed. Last time I faced this DPF severely overloaded issue, it cost me about 1325€, quite a hole in the wallet. However, it seemed to fix the problem alright. Can you share some additional vehicle info? Has there been any recent work done on the car? Have you filled it up with a different fuel recently? Might be able to offer a few more pointers with those details.
