Hey, cheers for the response. Last time I had it serviced was five months back, nothing about the sensor wheel then but considering the trouble it's giving me now, definitely something I'll get checked. As for the mileage, she's done 114857 KM already, so quite a bit since the last service. Hoping it won't take as much to sort as your Punto did, fingers crossed!
Hey, no problem at all! Yup, those are quite a few kilometers you've put on your Palio. With that mileage, sensors and other such parts can start playing up. It's no fun, trust me, I've been there. You mentioned the car has a long cold start time, a common symptom of a failing camshaft sensor. In my case, it was the sensor wheel that was the pain, but camshaft sensor issues can cause similar symptoms too. Given your last service was 5 months back, I'd suggest you get it checked pronto. Could be the camshaft sensor, could be something else. You'd rather know for sure than guess and spend unnecessarily. And hey, might just be a simple DIY job, or if you're not into getting your hands dirty, let the guys at the workshop handle it. You never know, sometimes you get lucky and it's an easy, budget-friendly fix. Don't stress too much until you've had it looked at and drop us a line on what eventually solves your problem. We're all in this motorised mess together!
Cheers! I appreciate your advice, and it seems you're right about the camshaft sensor and cold start time correlation. I'll get it over to the shop as soon as I can and hopefully it'll just be a minor problem. It's always great to share experiences and get some help from fellow petrolheads! I'll keep you guys posted on how it turns out. Fingers crossed it's not going to cost an arm and a leg, eh? Thanks again!

Hello my Fiat Punto 199 1.2 8v
2015 keeps giving the error P0340 after reading out and deleting the error it lasts about 2 months then the car jerks 1 time and the error comes back car goes into emergency run on what can it be?
The error code P0340 is related to the camshaft position sensor circuit. It could be due to a faulty sensor, wiring issues, or a timing belt/chain problem. I would suggest starting with a visual inspection of the sensor and its wiring for any obvious damage. If everything looks fine, you might need to test the sensor itself or check the timing system. Please remember, if you're not comfortable doing these checks yourself, it's always best to have a professional mechanic look at it. Let us know how it goes.
Hey there, sounds like you're in a right pickle. My 2013 Fiat Punto, practically the Palio's cousin, threw similar tantrums a little while back. I'm no mechanic genius, got some experience under my belt though. The engine light was my first clue, and like your Palio, mine was acting all sorts of weird too. To cut a long story short, it turned out to be a defective sensor wheel on the camshafts. After plenty of head scratching and spending a cool 695€ at the workshop, seems like it's all sorted. Just curious, when was your last servicing? And did they mention anything with the sensor wheel on your camshafts? It's always handy to double check these things with more information about the car. What's the mileage on your sweet ride? 'Cause every little detail helps.
