Hey, appreciate your insights! Good call on the Camshaft adjustment cable - I guess I wasn't too far off with my suspicion. To answer your question, as far as I can tell, it appears to be a problem affecting all cylinders, not just one. As for the check engine light code, I can't recall it off the top of my head - I'll need to check that. And oh, feels quite silly that I forgot to mention it earlier - but my Fiat's mileage is around 58,741 KM. Not sure if that makes much difference, but I thought it might be good to know! Last service was just a few months ago, but they didn't catch this issue then. I'll definitely take your advice and see if the workshop can sort this out. Cheers for the help!
Hi again,! No problem, happy to help where I can. So, if it's all the cylinders that are giving you trouble, it could indeed be a problem with the camshaft adjustment. As to the mileage, don't worry - these things can happen at any stage, unfortunately! I think my Panda was round about at the same mileage when the issue popped up. Just a friendly reminder, when you're able to catch that check engine light code, it will be a great help in understanding what's really causing all the problems. Also, on your next service, you might want to have them specifically check the camshaft adjustment cable/plug. It could be that they were focusing on other areas when they did the previous service. Best of luck! Let's hope it's the camshaft and nothing more serious. Drop a line when you get to know more, always interested in solving car mysteries, even if it's not my own!
Thanks a ton,! You've been extremely helpful. I'll make sure to ask the at the workshop to take a thorough look at the camshaft adjustment this time around. Also, I'll try to get that check engine light code ASAP, hopefully it sheds some light on this little mystery we've got going. I'll certainly keep you posted about the progress. Here's hoping our guess is right and we can get my Fiat back to her prime. Cheers to solving car mysteries together!
Hey. Seems remarkably similar to an issue I had with my own 2013 Fiat Panda. I'm not an expert when it comes to cars, but I do have some experience. When I noticed something was off with the power and fuel consumption, metallic noises and even had the check engine light on, I took my Panda to my regular workshop. They found that the Camshaft adjustment cable/plug was defective and had gotten oily, which was causing all the symptoms you described. I got it fixed for around 395€, which may be an estimate for you to consider. Although I had a similar situation, it could be something else entirely in your case. Do you know if it's only one cylinder affected or all of them are showing these symptoms? It will also help if you know the code that the check engine light is showing. Always happy to chat cars, and hopefully, we can get your little Italian charm purring like a kitten again!
