Hey! Wow, that's some insight right there! This wastegate valve defect might just be exactly what I'm dealing with. Your experience seems to be eerily comparable to what my Dokker's showing. Spooky, but also incredibly helpful. Do you mind me asking, how much did it cost you to fix this issue? And has anything else popped up afterwards related to this or was it smooth sailing? I'm trying to gauge what I might be in for. Thanks heaps for sharing your experience, it really helps out a lot. Cheers!
Hey there, Glad to know my previous experience could shed some light on your situation! As for your questions, to patch up that pesky wastegate valve problem, I had to dig into my pockets for about 860 Euro - not exactly a drop in the bucket, but it sure did the trick! Since then, my Sandero's been purring like a kitten, no further problems related to that. Remember, I mentioned the pressure boost malfunction? Well, that cleared up once the wastegate valve was fixed. In all honesty, it's been smooth sailing since that issue was tackled. No more black exhaust or crazy shaking, and most importantly, that stubborn check engine light finally gave it a rest. It's a relief knowing that your car's troubles can be pinpointed and fixed, even if it does come with a bill. Here's hoping your Dokker will soon be back to its old self. Wishing you the best of luck with it! Cheers!
Hey! Your advice surely provides a lot of clarity! Really would've been stuck without these nitty-gritty details. 860 Euro, that's a bit of a pinch but as long as it gets old Dokie up and running smoothly again, I'm ready to foot the bill. So, that's a relief to hear that there were no corresponding issues after the fix. Been missing the moments where my ride worked like a charm! Thanks heaps for your guidance, your help is greatly appreciated. I'll set about getting that wastegate valve looked at right away. Fingers crossed it'll be just like yours, sorted in no time and no more drama afterwards. Catch you around and thanks again!
Hey there, Sounds like you're dealing with a doozy, huh? You know, some of the symptoms you described remind me of an issue I had not too long ago with my 2016 Dacia Sandero. Good chunk of similarities there! My car also struggled with acceleration and idling, the engine was shaking like it was possessed, and to top it off, there was this very alarming exhaust and weird hissing sound. Turned out, it was a wastegate valve defect causing the problem. Thing is, the wastegate valve controls the boost pressure in your turbo, so if it's got a defect, you could indeed encounter the symptoms you listed. The drop in power, the black exhaust, the check engine light - all those can trace back to a malfunctioning wastegate valve. Given that your Dacia's got some kilometers on it, just like mine did, I reckon you might be dealing with a similar issue. Your symptoms sure seem serious to me. I suggest you get it checked out pronto; you don't want this ignored or it could escalate to some scarier engine troubles. Anyway, hope this gives you a bit of direction. And remember, even mechanics are like everyone else - there're good eggs and bad eggs out there. Keep searching until you find one you trust. All the best!
