Hey guys, that issue sounds pretty familiar! My '11 Freemont, pretty much the same situation. Was convinced it was a thermostat issue too but it actually ended up being a faulty pump. It cost me a fair bit to sort out, but ever since it's been like old times with my faithful Fiat. Just out of interest, do you remember what fixing that harness set you back by? And have you encountered any problems after the repair? Cheers!
Hey there! Your situation sounds reminiscent of mine! I initially suspected the thermostat too, but it ended up being damage to the wiring harness causing the trouble. I forked out around 170€ for the repair - but it's been smooth sailing ever since, no bumps or hurdles at all. As a side-note, I did actually have a coolant thermostat issue before, but that was fixed when I founded a top-notch mechanic. Find someone who knows what they're doing, and your Freemont will be back on track in no time. Keep your chin up hope this helps you out a little!
Cheers! I'm definitely getting more comfortable with the idea of hunting down a skilled mechanic, thanks to your experiences. I thought it must have been the thermostat, but hey, the wiring harness and pump are worth checking out too. And the costs you guys mentioned, they seem fair for the peace of mind you get in return. Your experience with the repairs aftercare is reassuring. Time to give my Freemont the professional attention it deserves. Fingers crossed! Cheers for the advice, fellas! It's much appreciated.
Hey, I can relate to your situation. Had a similar issue with my '10 Fiat Bravo. Turned out to be a damaged wiring harness causing various malfunctions, not the thermostat I'd initially suspected. It was serious enough to hamper the overall functionality of my ride. Got it repaired at a trustworthy garage I stumbled upon. They handled the situation immaculately, starting with a comprehensive fault diagnosis and subsequently replaced the damaged portions of the wiring harness. Now the car's running smoother than ever. Don't hesitate to get professional help just ensure it's a competent mechanic this time round. Good luck!
