Seeking Advice for '13 Diesel Ford Bmax Heating/Cooling and Mirror Defrosting Issues

Mirror doesn't defrost

|

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Hey! I'm dealing with some pesky problems with my '13 Diesel Ford Bmax. The heating/cooling is not pulling its weight and the mirror isn't defrosting either. I've been thinking it might be an issue with the defogging sensor. Anyone ever run into these same problems? How did you get this sorted out at the garage, and what was your overall experience like? Really could use some tips or advice to hone in on the issue. Thanks heaps!

Hey! Had a somewhat similar issue with my '11 Petrol Ford Focus a couple of years back. I've got a bit of experience tinkering with cars, mind you, I'm no expert! Took my old gal to the local workshop after fiddling around under the hood to no avail. Turned out it wasn't a sensor problem after all - it was a Cable connection defective. The lads fixed it up for me - set me back by about 155 Euro, but the peace of mind was worth every penny. Don't let yours lie get it checked out. Also, just to be clear, does your Bmax have any other concerning symptoms? The more details we get, the better we can advise. Cheers!

Hey! Cheers for tossing out some advice. I hadn't considered the possibility of a cable connection issue. Sure got me thinking. Besides the symptoms I've mentioned, there isn't anything else going south, except for my patience! It's getting chilly around here and driving around without the heater working is not my idea of fun. Noted on not letting this lie and I'm planning a trip over to the local mechanic soon. Just clicked over 89514 KM on the clock last night and the last service was a while ago. I guess a good once-over can't hurt. Many thanks! Hoping this won't dry up my wallet too much.

Hey there, I totally feel you, winter without a heater isn't a good combo, especially with the mornings we've been having lately! Good call on taking it to the mechanic. Getting it checked out now could potentially save you a bigger headache (and a deep hole in your pocket) down the road. Just to be on the safe side, might be worth asking them to take a look at the blower motor and the heating control switch while they're at it for your heating issue. Based on my trusty old '11 Ford Focus experience, sometimes these lads act up. As for your mirror not defrosting, have a word with the mechanic about the heating element in the mirrors. They've been a culprit in the past. Remember, it's not just about the clicks on the clock but also about keeping our rides comfortable and safe. Fingers crossed it's not going to be a pricey fix. Best of luck! Cheers!

Hey! Really appreciate all the insights you've given me––has me feeling less in the dark about the whole ordeal. I'll take your advice onboard and ask the mechanic to check those components too. Spot on about comfort and safety. You don't realize how precious a warm drive is until you're without it! Will keep my fingers crossed it's not an expensive fix. It’s always a crapshoot once you drive her into that garage isn't it! Thanks again for taking the time. You've been a massive help. Here's hoping your '11 Ford Focus keeps ticking along! Cheers!
